AOTA members & staff recently participated in the The American Society of Colon and Re**al Surgeons - ASCRS Annual Scientific Meeting through Surgeonomics—a collaboration between ASCRS and AOTA focused on surgeon ergonomics and well-being.

The Surgeonomics booth featured common equipment used in laparoscopic, endoscopic, and robotic procedures, enabling OT practitioners to observe surgeons' movement patterns and share strategies to prevent injury, reduce pain, and support career longevity.

"An occupational therapy practitioner could treat a child with autism trying to engage in activities in school and play with their friends, or they could work with an older adult recovering from a stroke and trying to return home in their community,” she said.
