Lately at the So What Else Hunger Relief Baltimore chapter!

Our staff and volunteers have been busy lifting, sorting, and coordinating thousands of pounds of fresh food for neighbors who need it most.

From planning distributions to moving boxes and sharing smiles, their hard work is turning surplus into support and compassion into full plates.

Team of Stars is a five-week devised musical theatre summer camp for rising 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. Campers will work with professional artists to compose a completely original musical to be shared during final performance with families!

The Team of Stars camp offers an intensive holistic curriculum, blending the disciplines of musical theater (scriptwriting, acting, singing, dancing, and stagecraft) with restorative practices.

We use a community-building/conflict-resolution approach. Students will participate in dialogue circles and exercises to address topics important to the campers, for example, but not limited to bullying prevention, overcoming obstacles, mental health, drugs, love, and stereotyping.

All activities are led by professional instructors. Parents are invited to view the final performance of an original musical theater work written and performed by the campers.

Dates: July 6-August 7, 2026
Camp Address: Gaithersburg, Maryland (Exact location TBD)
Final Performance Address: Montgomery County, Maryland (Exact location TBD)
Tuition: Full Scholarships available as needed (Suggested donation)

On April 26, our So What Else Baltimore Resource Center team joined The Food Project and UEmpower of Maryland for the 5th biannual Community Baby Shower at the Resource HUB.

The event brought together 450 new and expecting moms, caregivers, and families in Southwest Baltimore for a day of support, connection, and care.

Alongside incredible community partners, we helped provide families with baby supplies, diapers, clothing, books, baby equipment, gifts for moms, healthy food, infant CPR education, safe sleep information, and other essential resources.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that shows up for families when it matters most!

We need your help collecting school supplies for Highland Additions’ Back to School event in DC on Saturday, August 8 from 12–3 PM. The event will support 450 families with the essentials students need to feel prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

Donations can be dropped off at our Montgomery County Food Rescue Bank.
