COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH ADVOCACY FOR VASCULAR ANOMALIES NETWORK

Welcome to CaRAVAN
Communities together on a journey to cures.

Our Goals
Build a strong collaborative and inclusive research network among our entire vascular anomaly patient advocacy community, to support research carried out by the Consortium of Investigators of Vascular Anomalies (CaNVAS) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and member institutions.

Develop a patient and family advocacy council with members who represent each of our partner vascular anomaly patient advocacy orgs.

Develop a medical and scientific council with members whose expertise represents each vascular anomaly.

Create an Innovation Council of industry advisors with >=4-6 inaugural members.

Work with and support our vascular anomaly patient and family communities to develop and act on important research questions that matter to them.

Support and assist with steps to carry out successful research including networking and bringing the experts together, mentoring, design assistance, grant identification, grant writing, grant submissions, fundraising, IRB regulatory support, medical student volunteer program, fellowships to engage early investigators, recruitment of participants but as well recruitment of early investigators and clinicians into the field, and supporting successful implementation of the grants.

Provide important educational material aimed at those in our community but as well those outside of our community re: the importance of research and understanding vascular biology and pathophysiology in the field of vascular anomalies.

We believe that if we advocate, support, encourage, inform and educate our Vascular Anomaly Community, then WE TOGETHER will be RESEARCH READY to collaborate with our clinicians and scientists to advance therapies and find cures!
