🧡🌎 DID YOU KNOW? IT’S INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ DAY 🌎🧡
Today, we recognize and celebrate Indigenous peoples, their histories, cultures, resilience, and contributions — both past and present 🪶✨
💡 DID YOU KNOW?
🌿 Oklahoma is home to many Tribal Nations! There are 38 federally recognized Tribal Nations headquartered in Oklahoma, each with its own unique history, culture, and government.
🗣️ Languages carry history! Indigenous languages hold knowledge, stories, traditions, and ways of understanding the world. Communities continue working to preserve and revitalize their languages.
🎨 Culture is living! Indigenous artists, storytellers, musicians, educators, and leaders continue creating, teaching, and sharing their knowledge today.
📚 History goes back thousands of years! Indigenous peoples lived throughout the Americas long before European colonization, building communities and rich, diverse societies.
🤝 There is no single Indigenous experience! Indigenous peoples represent many distinct nations, communities, languages, and traditions.
Today is a reminder to listen, learn, celebrate Indigenous voices, and recognize the people and cultures that continue to shape our communities 🧡
🐝 At SunHive, we believe kindness starts with curiosity, respect, and a willingness to learn from one another!
