Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on our nation's history, honor the resilience and contributions of Black Americans, and celebrate freedom and progress.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to learn, reflect, and participate in the events and conversations that help build a more inclusive future.

💙 Fun Fact Friday... with a meaningful reminder.

While this week's "fun fact" isn't necessarily fun, it highlights why CASA volunteers are so important.

Many children in foster care experience multiple changes in placements, schools, and service providers. Through those transitions, a CASA volunteer can be one of the most consistent adults in a child's life—providing stability, encouragement, and a dedicated voice focused on their best interests.

That's the difference a CASA volunteer makes every day. 💙

What is reunification?

Reunification is the process of safely returning children to their families after parents or caregivers have addressed concerns that led to foster care involvement.

Successful reunification often requires hard work, support services, and collaboration from many people—including CASA advocates.

This National Reunification Month, we celebrate the strength and resilience of families working toward a brighter future.

💙❤️ National Reunification Month ❤️💙

This National Reunification Month, South Central CASA celebrates the families, children, and professionals who work together to achieve safe, lasting permanency for children in foster care.

Out of the 190 children we have served in FY26, 61.7% of them achieved permanency through reunification, demonstrating that when families receive the support, resources, and opportunities they need, children can safely return home and thrive.

At South Central CASA, our volunteers advocate for what is in each child's best interest. Whenever reunification can be achieved safely and successfully, CASA supports efforts to strengthen families, remove barriers, and help children maintain meaningful connections with those they love.

While adoption and guardianship are important permanency outcomes, we recognize that reunification often provides children with the opportunity to remain connected to their families, culture, and community. Our commitment is to ensure every child has a safe, permanent, and nurturing home—whatever path to permanency best serves their needs.
