Court Appointed Special Advocates serving Cleveland, McClain & Garvin Counties. South Central CASA has existed since 1984, when it began operating as Cleveland County CASA. Since that time, we have served hundreds of abused and neglected children by offering members of the community opportunities to volunteer or otherwise support the organization. We look forward to continuing this great work under our new name.

Their story is a beautiful reminder of why CASA matters. Behind every case is a child, a family, and a community of people working together to create a brighter future. CASA volunteers provide consistency, support, and advocacy when children need it mostโ€”and the impact can last far beyond the time a case is open. ๐Ÿ’™

Today was a full house at the South Central CASA of Oklahoma office! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Weโ€™re so thankful to OKSA for coming out and providing such valuable training to our CASA advocates. Our CASAโ€™s had the opportunity to learn more about OKSA, the resources they provide, and all of the services and opportunities available to children and youth in foster care.

Weโ€™re grateful for organizations like OKSA who help equip our advocates with the knowledge and resources they need to better serve the children we advocate for. Thank you for investing in our CASAโ€™s and, most importantly, in Oklahomaโ€™s foster youth! ๐Ÿซถ

Last Friday, we had the privilege of swearing in three new CASA volunteers! ๐ŸŽ‰ Each of these incredible advocates has chosen to step forward and be a voice for a child who needs someone in their corner.

This swearing-in was extra special because CASA truly runs in the family! ๐Ÿ’™ One of our new advocates is the ๐๐š๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐€๐’๐€ ๐ฏ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ, continuing a family tradition of advocating for children. ๐Ÿ“šโœ๏ธ A new school year should bring excitementโ€”not uncertainty.

For many children in foster care, the start of school can also mean starting over.

Children in foster care often experience multiple school changes, making it harder to keep up academically, build lasting friendships, and feel connected to their teachers and community. Research has shown that maintaining school stability is critical to a child's academic success and emotional well-being. Federal law even prioritizes keeping children in their school of origin whenever it's in their best interest.

That's where CASA volunteers make a difference.

A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) speaks up for what's in a child's best interestโ€”including advocating for educational stability whenever possible. Whether it's helping a child remain in the same school, ensuring they receive the educational services they need, or making sure their voice is heard, CASAs work to provide consistency during an incredibly uncertain time.

As backpacks are packed and school bells begin to ring, remember that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive without unnecessary disruption.
