NEVER TOO YOUNG TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

9 young leaders. 1 powerful mission.
BOOM - Because our Opinion Matters

We are incredibly proud of 9 Teens With a Purpose youth who successfully completed training to help register voters!

These young people aren’t even old enough to cast their own ballots yet, but they already understand the importance of civic engagement, community voice, and the power of participation.

They aren’t waiting until they’re 18 to become changemakers. They’re taking action NOW to make sure the voices of their families, neighbors, and communities are heard.

And they’re putting their training into ACTION!!

Join us on October 22nd at our State of the Youth Voice event where these incredible young leaders will be helping community members register to vote!

State of the Youth Voice will bring together young people ages 11–19 from across Hampton Roads to explore mental health, education, support for unhoused individuals, and programs for teens. Through spoken word, music, dance, and conversation, we will share our experiences and offer ideas for a stronger, more caring community.

Our hearts are heavy. 💙

Teens With a Purpose holds the entire Norview High School community in prayer following the recent shooting.

We pray for healing for those injured, comfort for those grieving, and strength for the students, families, educators, and friends carrying the weight of this tragedy.

To our young people: your lives matter. Your futures matter. You deserve to feel safe, supported, and surrounded by love. Whatever you are feeling, you do not have to carry it alone. Please reach out to a trusted adult, counselor, or someone who can listen. We are always here to listen and support you 757-747-2679

May we hold one another close and turn our prayers into care, connection, and a renewed commitment to protecting our youth. 🕊️

What do young people need to thrive in City of Norfolk? Let’s hear from them.

During Teen Talk with Councilman Carlos Clanton, youth shared their top priorities:

✨ More Teen programming, spaces, events and activites
🏫 Improved school conditions and policies
🏘️ Infrastructure improvements

These priorities reflect a desire for spaces to grow, schools that support them, and neighborhoods that meet their needs.

Thank you, Councilman Clanton, for making space for the conversation at Teens With a Purpose. We help young people use their voices and turn their ideas into action. Their perspectives belong in the decisions shaping Norfolk’s future. 💜
