✨Tour de Cure Spotlight: Meet Meghan, captain of Team Slow & Steady! 🔦
Meghan didn’t start cycling with big goals. Her husband rode, and during the pandemic it was simply something to do together. At first, it was fine. Not magic. Just… fine.
In 2022, she signed up for Tour de Cure for one very important reason: she wanted to buy a jersey. told her she HAD to do the 30-mile route to be jersey-worthy. Despite being fairly prepared, after a struggle and a quick cry at mile 25, she finished it and promptly decided road riding probably wasn’t for her.
A year later, something clicked after she bought a road bike that was too good of a deal to pass up. Since then, Meghan has completed two metric century Tour de Cure rides and even tried a road race last year. She’s goal-oriented, loves a challenge, and believes in progress over perfection.
After participating with a corporate team, Meghan saw just how much Tour de Cure means. When Slow & Steady opened, she knew it was the right place to build a team. “I knew we had the community to make this special,” she says. “So I asked Fred if I could start a team.”
What she hopes riders take away: pride in doing something that once felt intimidating and a real connection to the impact their fundraising has on people living with diabetes. Click the link in bio to donate to Team Slow & Steady! Every little bit helps
