This is what a movement calling to looks like!

Thank you to every New Yorker who showed up today for their immigrant neighbors.

❌🧊Our demands are simple: we want ICE out of New York.

We demand a full and transparent investigation into yesterday’s shooting, and accountability for those responsible.

We need to ensure that the NYPD plays no role in aiding federal law enforcement.

And we must abolish ICE.

“No immigrant kid out there deserves to have uncertainty and to not know whether their parents are gonna go back to the table, whether they’re gonna be tucked in to bed, or whether they’re gonna have to talk to their parents through a phone because they are detained and possibly deported.”

⚖️Our incredible legal team quickly filed a habeas petition on behalf of the community member who was shot yesterday by ICE in the Bronx in broad daylight, with a five-year-old in the backseat.

Join us at 5:30 PM at Foley Square to say loud and clear: ICE out of New York.

🗳️“This midterm election is going to be one of the most consequential of our lifetime. We must keep our eyes on the polls,” said Mark Ruffalo this weekend at the Hands Off Our Vote event.

The speakers, which included our Co-Executive Director Natalia Aristizabal and Robert De Niro, spoke out to mobilize people across the country to join the fight to protect this year’s elections and the most at-risk voters.

Immigrant registered voters are particularly vulnerable to being targeted by ICE agents outside polling places in an attempt to suppress their vote. We won’t let them. We will protect our vote and defend our democracy.

¡Para hacerte miembro de Make the Road New York, visita nuestra oficina y participa!

🗳️✊We will protect our vote!

Last night, our Co-Executive Director Natalia Aristizabal joined movement leaders, artists, and election protection experts with Indivisible ❌👑 for a special Hands Off Our Vote event to inspire and mobilize people across the country to join the fight to protect this year’s elections and the most at-risk voters.

Speakers, including Natalia, shared actionable plans and tangible steps for everyone to take to defend our democracy.

We also shared the power of massive early-vote turnout as an election protection tactic and invited people to No Kings: Vote Early, happening on October 17.

Stay tuned for more details!
