Brain Tumor Foundation

Brain Tumor Foundation Founded by Patrick J. Kelly, M.D., F.A.C.S., the Joseph Ransohoff Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at NYU Medical Center,

The Brain Tumor Foundation (BTF) guides and supports patients and families during the turbulent times when a brain tumor touches their lives. We educate about the need for early detection, and we offer support groups, medical referrals, and informational events. BTF Kids, an innovative initiative for pediatric patients and their families, is a project of the Brain Tumor Foundation. The Foundation’

s expertise, compassion, and resources ensure that brain tumor patients have a powerful ally in their fight against this disease.

Brain tumors are uniquely deceptive. There’s no bump, no rash, no obvious warning sign. Just someone who looks completely fine while their world is being turned upside down.

That’s what makes awareness so critical.

A persistent headache might be stress, vision changes might be needing new glasses, Dizziness might be low blood pressure.

The people fighting brain tumors often spent months or years getting answers because the signs were too subtle to catch, And time matters.

Early detection can change outcomes.

It’s also a time to stand together.

For nearly three decades, support from this community has helped provide guidance, resources, awareness, and hope to those navigating one of life’s most difficult journeys. But the need has never been greater.

Your support helps:
• Support patients and families in crisis
• Advance life-saving early detection efforts
• Expand awareness and education
• Fund critical programs and outreach
• Remind patients and caregivers that they are not alone

Every gift matters. Every dollar helps. Every act of support brings hope.

The human brain is nearly 60% fat by dry weight, one of the most lipid-rich organs in the body. 🧠

These fats are not excess. They are essential to memory, learning, and the communication between billions of neurons.

Every thought begins here.

The Brain Tumor Foundation is deeply saddened by the passing of after his courageous battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Jason inspired many through his strength, advocacy, and resilience both on and off the court. His passing is a reminder that brain tumors can impact anyone, at any age, and that continued research, early detection, and access to advanced treatment options are so critically important.

We honor Jason’s legacy and stand with all patients, families, and loved ones affected by brain tumors. Together, we will continue fighting for awareness, research, and hope.

Early detection is extremely important.

That’s why we started a nationwide initiative to bring mobile MRI units to cities across the country to offer brain scans.

If you are interested in donating to the campaign or sponsoring a city, please DM us to learn more about how you can help support early detection and save lives.

When former NFL player and college football analyst David Pollack’s wife, Lindsay Pollack, was diagnosed with a brain tumor, everything changed.

David has shared how easy it is to dismiss symptoms, push off appointments, or assume things will pass but those delays can have real consequences. Acting early can mean more treatment options, more time, and better outcomes.

If you take anything away from David and Lindsay’s story , let it be this: listen to your body, trust your instincts, and don’t wait.

Because early detection can change everything.

Going gray is a small act with a powerful meaning.

It’s about raising awareness, standing with those affected, and helping move research and care forward.

Your first chemo session can feel overwhelming but knowing what to expect helps.

It usually starts with an orientation: meeting your care team and reviewing the plan.

Emotionally, anything goes anxious, numb, calm there’s no “right” reaction.

Side effects can come quickly or take time, and everyone’s experience is different.
