At the MSG Garden of Dreams Foundation giveaway in NYC:

Carrington, nicknamed “Shu Shu,” helped give out custom refilled water bottles while sporting a custom Knicks jersey and his WBC title belt wrapped around his shoulders. He spoke to amNewYork about his desire to give back to those in need and use his platform to “spread love”

“I think that athletes forget the responsibility that they have in terms of being on a big stage and you have to give back in some way. I feel like the person I am today is because of the people that gave back to me and I understand how it affects me, so I can only imagine how it affects the kids coming up from behind me,” Carrington said.

La visita del día de hoy al Hospital Pediatrico de Tacubaya , fue una experiencia conmovedora . Visitar niños que han sufrido quemaduras en su cuerpo pero que en sus caras mantienen una sonrisa ayudan a valorar aún más la vida . Son vivencias que nos recuerdan la importancia de acompañar ayudar y brindar esperanza a quienes más lo necesitan. The WBC and WBC Cares joined the community for an incredible backpack giveaway, bringing together champions, young fighters, coaches, volunteers and local organizations with one goal — to help children start the new school year with everything they need and a big smile on their faces.

WBC World Super Flyweight Champion Adelaida Ruiz and WBC Continental Americas Champion Joshua Anton were there giving back alongside boxing prospects Sammy Contreras, Abel Alba Jr. and Art Barrera, as well as Coach Daysi Garcia, mental health therapist Melissa Garcia and WBC Cares Ambassador Nancy Rodriguez.

Thanks to the support of TORKLAW, thousands of backpacks and school supplies were provided for children in the community.

🥊El boxeo y su poder transformador🥊
Hoy tuvimos el privilegio de visitar a los alumnos del CEC Maldonado Nuevo (Centro Educativo Comunitario de UTU), donde compartimos una charla muy enriquecedora sobre el enorme impacto que puede tener el boxeo como herramienta de transformación personal y social.
Conversamos sobre valores como el respeto, la disciplina, el esfuerzo, la superación y las oportunidades que el deporte puede generar, demostrando cómo el boxeo ha cambiado la vida de muchas personas dentro y fuera del ring.
Agradecemos especialmente a Ana Antunez por la invitación y por abrirnos las puertas de esta institución para compartir nuestra experiencia con los estudiantes.
Seguimos convencidos de que el deporte es una herramienta para construir un mejor futuro

WORD OF THE MONTH: REDEMPTION 💚

Redemption begins the moment we choose to move forward.

For David Benavidez, every challenge became an opportunity to grow stronger. Through discipline, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to his goals, he has shown that setbacks do not define who we are. The choices we make afterward do.

As we recognize Substance Abuse Awareness Month and support the WBC Clean Boxing Program, we are reminded that asking for help, making healthy choices, and believing in second chances are all signs of strength.

Every champion has a story. Redemption is about writing the next chapter.

La superación comienza en el momento en que decidimos seguir adelante.

Para David Benavidez, cada desafío se convirtió en una oportunidad para crecer. Con disciplina, perseverancia y un compromiso inquebrantable con sus metas, ha demostrado que los obstáculos no definen quiénes somos, sino la manera en que decidimos enfrentarlos.

En el Mes de la Concientización sobre el Abuso de Sustancias y a través del Programa WBC Clean Boxing, recordamos que pedir ayuda, tomar decisiones saludables y nunca dejar de avanzar también es una muestra de fortaleza.

Todo campeón tiene una historia. La superación consiste en escribir el siguiente capítulo.
