FABnyc FABnyc’s mission is to strengthen the cultural vitality of the Lower East Side.

FABnyc was founded in 2001 as the nonprofit leadership organization for the East 4th Street Cultural District, a historic and vibrant arts corridor in Manhattan between Second Avenue and Bowery. We implement this mission through a range of programs and collaborations with local cultural organizations, independent artists, community-based organizations and neighborhood nonprofits. We work as cultural producers, facilitators, and organizers with an ongoing interest in how arts and culture can advance community health, inclusiveness, and equity.

🎹 Emilio Teubal ()
An Argentine pianist, composer, and arranger based in New York. He has released seven albums as a bandleader and composer and has contributed as a sideman to numerous recordings, including Vigor Tanguero by the Pedro Giraudo Quartet, which won the 2018 Latin Grammy for Best Tango Album.

A prolific composer and arranger, Emilio identifies his artistry and creative search to the music of Latin America and the permanent elasticity of stylistic limits. His latest record, Seven Etudes, is a collection of piano pieces which evoke echoes of Latin American folk, jazz, and contemporary classical music. This followed the release of Futuro which was included on the list of 2023 Best Jazz albums in Bandcamp.

We’re looking forward to having Salsa and Latin music during the Lower East Side Arts and Culture Open House - with 25 participating organizations! Sonido Costeño will play two sets 1pm-2:45pm.

This outdoor iteration of With You, The Unknown Becomes an Adventure is presented in conjunction with a community celebration from the Ukrainian Museum and artist Molly Gochman, titled Memory Collage. This activation is in celebration of the community members that make up the fabric of the Ukrainian Museum’s history.
Before Tisto’s activation, starting at 6:00, the Museum will scan personal items brought by community members to be added to a participatory collage. This weekend of events will honor the Ukrainian Museum’s 50th anniversary.
