Last night, I had the privilege of attending the NYC Central Labor Council AFL-CIO holiday party. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with key figures in our city's labor and political landscape, and I'm excited to share some highlights with you.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Tiffany Caban, Diana Ayala from the City Council, and Jessica Gonzales-Rios from the State Assembly, as well as Jessica Ramos from the State Senate. Diana Ayala's warm welcome and heartfelt hugs were truly touching, showcasing the genuine support our community receives from some elected officials.
During our conversations, I expressed my deep concern regarding the proposed Arts & Culture budget cuts and their potential impact on Abuelito dime tú and other vital cultural programs. While Tiffany Caban's memory of me seemed a bit hazy, the other council members and legislative leaders listened intently and engaged in thoughtful dialogue about the issue.
These interactions reinforced the importance of building strong relationships with our elected officials and advocating for the arts as a cornerstone of our community. I believe that by actively engaging with these decision-makers, we can ensure that programs like Abuelito dime tú continue to thrive and enrich the lives of countless individuals.
I'm confident that, through continued outreach and collaboration, we can secure the resources vital to our community's cultural vibrancy. I look forward to sharing further updates on our efforts and working together to ensure a brighter future for the arts!
