Join on September 24th, 2026 at the Black Tech Honors Awards Gala as we celebrate Dr. Nicole K. Grimes, the recipient of this year's Cultural Impact Award. This award recognizes an individual that uses engineering & technology to fuel, shape, or elevate Black culture & community.

She is a dynamic force at the intersection of education, entrepreneurship, and culture. A Cornell-trained mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. in Urban Education, Nicole has spent over two decades leading in classrooms, principal offices, and national conversations on DEI and STEM. She is the founder and CEO of Carib Biz Network, a certified M/WBE platform that supports Caribbean entrepreneurs through programming, pop-ups, and media strategy.

Her work has been featured in Forbes, Fox 5, and The Guardian, and she has earned accolades from the NYC Council, Seeds of Fortune, and I Am Cultured. From launching students into STEM careers to helping micro-businesses scale with purpose, Nicole is a visionary community builder dedicated to increasing equity and access across every space she touches.

Join on September 24th, 2026 at the Black Tech Honors Awards Gala as we celebrate Robert S. Bright, the recipient of this year's Leadership Award. This award recognizes exemplary leadership and service within NSBE and the broader STEM Community.

As graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, Robert became a NSBE student member on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1979 and served as the initial two-term National Chairperson of the NSBE Alumni Extension, now called NSBE Professionals, from 1998-1990. Subsequent to his chairperson position, Mr. Bright became NSBE’s first international member while residing in London, England, on an expatriate assignment for Exxon Corporation.

Robert is the Founder and President of Talson Solutions, LLC, a capital program advisory firm, and serves as a construction auditor and project consultant with over 40 years of experience. He has led audits of design and construction contracts, conducted risk assessments, performed as project executive, and served as an expert witness. He has significant international experience, having served in various capacities while working in fourteen different countries.
Starting as a sole practitioner in 2001, Robert has expanded Talson with offices in Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York, and Panama City, Panama. Talson has participated in over $50 billion of capital projects, including the $5.2 billion Panama Canal Expansion Program, Comcast Technology Center in Philadelphia, Second Avenue Subway in New York, Salesforce Tower in San Francisco, and numerous others.

This award recognizes an emerging leader whose early career trajectory signals tomorrow’s innovation, impact, and technical excellence.

Leo is a software engineer, entrepreneur, and community builder passionate about using technology to bring people together. As a Senior Software Engineer, he has led large‑scale modernization initiatives—migrating enterprise applications to modern cloud infrastructure, mentoring fellow engineers, and championing best‑in‑class engineering practices.

Beyond his work in software, Leo is the founder of VibeLink, a platform designed to help people discover events, build community, and create meaningful real‑world connections through music. His work reflects a core belief: technology should do more than solve problems—it should strengthen human connection.

Join on September 24th, 2026 at the Black Tech Honors Awards Gala as we celebrate George Guillaume, the recipient of this year's Community Partnership Award. This award celebrates organizations and/or individuals that have made meaningful contributions to Black technical talent.

George Guillaume serves as AECOM’s NYC Metro+ Executive. In this role, he oversees strategic growth and project delivery across New York City, drawing on more than 20 years of infrastructure experience. Combining results‑driven leadership with deep aviation expertise, he continues to guide some of New York’s most transformative airport programs, including the civil design at JFK’s Terminal 6.

Prior to joining AECOM, George led Delta Air Lines’ $1.5B expansion of JFK’s Terminal 4 as Program Director, managing design, construction, and project delivery teams. He also served as Deputy Program Director for Delta’s $4B terminal program at LaGuardia Airport and as Assistant Resident Engineer at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

George excels at leading multidisciplinary teams and facilitating stakeholder communication and community engagement to support timely, informed decision‑making. His contributions have been widely recognized: he was named Community Impact Leader by the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation in 2022, joined its Board of Directors in 2023, and was featured in City & State’s Responsible 100 in 2023.
