Netanyahu claimed that there were not enough suitable women candidates to consider for the position of National Security Council head.

"But Netanyahu is mistaken: one need only take a look at the website of פורום דבורה Forum Dvorah (the organization promotes women in decision-making roles in the fields of security and foreign affairs) to find a wealth of female experts with relevant experience. It is clear that Netanyahu – who has more access to information than that an ordinary citizen – did not even try."

We are so proud to support Forum Dvorah and many others that are pushing hard to get qualified women into top leadership roles..

Netanyahu's Mistaken Assumption That There Are No Women Qualified for the Position of National Security Council Head Is Truly Dangerous

Pictured here is an advertisement poster in Israel that was defaced to hide women's faces. Acts like this -- as well as cases of women soldiers court martialed for "immodest dress" and excluded from their bases, along with anti-discrimination laws blatantly violated, are all on the rise. Read Elana Sztokman 's latest post in The Times of Israel (link in comments) to learn about the growing problem of gender segregation in Israel. Thank you to our many grant recipients, including שדולת הנשים בישראל and Rackman Center - מרכז רקמן, for fighting back.

Congratulations to the three pioneers who this week became the first-ever women to take the Israeli Chief Rabbinate's exams!

As our grant recipient Rackman Center said, "This moment didn’t happen overnight. It came after years of legal struggle, a petition to the High Court, and a landmark ruling that made it clear: excluding women from these exams is unlawful discrimination. Despite repeated attempts to circumvent that ruling, justice prevailed.

"The Rackman Center is proud to have been part of this effort.

"At the same time, this milestone came with serious concerns:
• Women were forced to wait more than four hours before receiving the exam. During this delay, the Rackman Center—together with the petitioners and our partners עתים - Itim and Kolenu—filed an urgent motion.
• The exam was administered in gender segregated locations. While this may be presented as logistical, we remain clear: separate is not equal. We will continue to monitor this closely.

Even with these challenges, today marks real progress."

Supporting survivors of sexual violence is always an important topic, but particularly in the aftermath of Epstein Files revelations. Looking forward to this Svivah program we are cosponsoring with several current and past grant recipients (JWI, Sacred Spaces, Jewish Women's Archive), SRE Network and many other wonderful Jewish organizations.
