Chosen Family Law Center’s Executive Director Diana Adams, Esq was featured as a policy expert last night on ABC Nightline as part of a story about the rise of platonic co-parenting (individuals seeking to build families together without a romantic relationship). Diana spoke powerfully on the prevalence, beauty, and stability of the non-nuclear families that are on the rise, in counterpoint to the Heritage Foundation which recently published 'Saving America by Saving the American Family' about making it harder to divorce, reducing q***r families, and limiting families to heterosexual married couples with biological children.

Chosen Family Law Center is proud to be a part of this important work, helping platonic and other non-nuclear family units gain recognition through co-parenting and co-habitation agreements, Will and estate planning, and more. Diana has risen to policy co-chair of the NYC Trans Q***r Coalition to interface with NYC government on behalf of the over 80 organizations in the coalition serving LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers. Diana’s leadership in municipal legislative drafting and advocacy has impacted passage of laws in NYC, Portland, West Hollywood, and beyond, this year alone. It’s powerful to see Diana honored by this kind of mainstream legal organization for defending and serving the beautiful varieties of love within our communities!

At CFLC, we remain committed to fighting for the right to love who we choose, build families that reflect our lives, and access the legal protections necessary to care for one another.

Come on out after Brooklyn Pride! We’re proud to have the support of our favorite local q***r bar in South Park Slope. The work we’re doing as a small, grassroots non-profit is having an outsized impact on our community, and we’re honored that Sandy Jack’s is helping us keep community support at the center of Pride.

Chosen Family Law Center will be tabling outside Sandy Jack’s during the Brooklyn Pride Twilight Parade, right along the parade route on 5th Ave. Then join us inside for “The” Brooklyn Pride Parade after party! Sandy Jack’s is generously opening their space to fundraise for CFLC all month long, and is an inclusive space for q***r fundraising and solidarity year round. When you support CFLC and Sandy Jack’s you’re making a real, positive impact on your community, and you get to have fun doing it!

This Pride, CFLC has a generous matching grant – so all gifts are doubled! Let’s make sure that supporting the LGBTQIA+ community is at the forefront of all of our celebrations this month. Pride isn’t just a party. It’s resistance, driven by mutual aid and taking care of each other.

This Pride, Chosen Family Law Center is THRILLED to be partnering with , a gay-owned inclusive q***r bar in South Slope, Brooklyn dedicated to finding creative ways to uplift the community. Visit Sandy Jack’s all month long and try “The Chosen Family” cocktail and mocktail. (It’s a cran-orange mimosa, and it’s delicious!) A portion of all signature drink sales will be donated to Chosen Family Law Center.

Your support will be doubled this month as we are thrilled to have a Pride matching grant! Your donations directly support our work providing free legal services for low-income LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers and non-nuclear families, and advocating for legislation to protect q***r families in NYC & across the country.
