Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 9th Brooklyn Back-to-School Carnival!🎒📚

We're incredibly grateful to our community leaders, sponsors, volunteers, staff, and all the community members and families who came out on Saturday, August 22nd.

Our annual Back-to-School event is all about making sure our students and families feel supported and equipped with the resources they need for a successful school year. We hope everyone had fun completing the BINGO quest, found helpful resources, and most importantly, enjoyed spending the day together!

📣 Help us spread the word about this free training!

Kids today are dealing with a lot. Being able to spot the warning signs early and know how to actually help can make a huge difference.

On August 25, we’re running a free GUIDE Training (Guiding Youth through Intervention, Diversion, and Empowerment).

Here’s what you’ll walk away with:

• How to notice early signs that a young person might be struggling
• De-escalation tips and how to communicate in tough moments
• A better handle on common youth mental health challenges
• How to connect kids and families with the right community resources

This is great for parents, teachers, school staff, community workers, social service folks — really anyone who works with young people.

🫂 Week 6 of our PCR Park Wellness Program focused on the importance of having a support circle and knowing that you are not alone. Participants were encouraged to think about the people they trust and answer one simple question about who makes them feel safe. This activity reminded participants that identifying trusted and supportive people is an important part of emotional wellness and building strong connections.

🧸👶 A strong parent-child bond begins from the earliest years. Our Baby Play Day gave parents and their children a special opportunity to connect, play, and grow together. Through colorful toys, different textures and touch, and music, children explored their senses while supporting their early development.
