But what happens when you want to pray and cannot find the words? How does Yishmael teach us to be heard by God without using words? Find out in R. Avi Strausberg’s Dvar Torah for VaYera, available through the link in the 1st comment.

Our parashah introduces Avram and Sarai as being childless for years, yet God promises them offspring as innumerable as the stars. Given the Torah’s description of Sarai as barren, we can infer years of trying to have children, met with frustration and sadness.

What does it take to believe in a future promise while living in a hopeless present? Find out in R. Avi Strausberg’s Dvar Torah for Noah, available through the link in the 1st comment.

Few mitzvot are as cherished as lighting the Hanukkah candles. Hadar's new companion explores the story behind the ritual. What candles do we light? Where, and how?

Through the give-and-take of the Talmud and our halakhic tradition, these pages invite learners to ask deeper questions about what it means to remember, to hope, and to bring light into the world.

The companion is available for free (we simply ask for a donation to cover shipping costs), and if you place your order by Monday, October 19 - you’ll receive it in time for Hanukkah.
