It is my honor to introduce you all to one of our AHF affinity groups, SOMOS LOUD, where our mission is to educate, advocate, and motivate our communities. I joined SOMOS LOUD at the beginning of my AHF career in 2016, helping build and grow our local chapter. In 2020, I proudly became Chapter President, and today I’m excited to share that I now serve as the National Director of Events.

If you’re looking to get involved, volunteer, or become part of this incredible movement, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Together, we continue creating visibility, empowerment, and impact in our communities.

And trust me — you do NOT want to miss this Pride Month kickoff celebration! 🌈 We’ll have a special live performance@ny exciting giveaways, special prizes, and an unforgettable night of community, connection, and pride. See you there!

The very first episode of The Community Spotlight Podcast featured the incredible Sonya Keshwani — and she represents everything we stand for.

Bold. Beautiful. Bright.
A true force of love, leadership, and community impact. Thank you for inspiring us and helping launch this journey with purpose. 🙏🏽✨
On this episode of The Community Spotlight Podcast, we sit down with Sonya Keshwani, founder of StyleEsteem Wardrobe, to explore a journey rooted in resilience, creativity, and transformation. After being diagnosed with breast cancer at just 29, Sonya faced the emotional and physical toll of losing her hair during chemotherapy. Frustrated by the lack of stylish and empowering options, she decided to create her own—and that decision changed everything.

What began as a personal act of healing evolved into a global fashion movement.

Sonya shares how designing turbans helped her reclaim her confidence, voice, and power, and how that passion grew into a brand that celebrates self-expression, inclusivity, and empowerment for people of all backgrounds and hair journeys.

I’m full of passion. I’m full of fire❤️‍🔥

As someone living with HIV, I never allowed my diagnosis to make me give up. If anything, it pushed me to become even more optimistic about my life—and I truly believe that mindset has blessed me in so many ways.

Trust me, life is not perfect. I am not perfect. But I embrace my flaws because I am perfectly imperfect. The authenticity of who I am has finally set me free from the shackles of society.

To anyone going through something difficult right now: find your tribe. Find your people. Find those who remind you that you are worthy, powerful, and never alone. ❤️

I found mine through organizations like AHF, the HIV Stops With Me campaign, and most recently The Community Spotlight, and I’m forever grateful for the love, visibility, and community.

Keep going. Your story still matters. Your Story always matters ✨
