Our history was built by people who refused to dim their light—or make themselves smaller.

By the ones who refused to disappear.

It lives in the people, known and unknown, who organized, protested, created, cared for one another, and built community where none existed.

In every person who risked being seen so more of us could live openly.
Every person who made room, held a hand, opened a door, or imagined a future they might never experience themselves.

And it lives in us now.
In the coach who changes a harmful policy.
The athlete who shows up fully.
The ally who speaks up.
The community that refuses to leave anyone behind.

This LGBTQ+ History Month, we remember with gratitude. We celebrate how far we have come. And we keep fighting for the future we, and those coming after us, deserve.

History is not only what we inherit. It is what we choose to carry forward. Together.

Coming out is never a single, one-time event.
A new coach. A new teammate. A new gym. A new class. A new person who doesn’t know about it.

Each introduction can bring the same quiet calculation: Is it safe to be fully myself here?

When someone chooses to share this part of themselves with you, understand what they are offering: trust.

“I don’t care” may be intended as acceptance, but it can dismiss the courage it took to speak.

Instead, try:
❤️”Thank you for trusting me.”
❤️”I’m glad I get to know you more fully.”
❤️”How can I support you?”

Then honor their privacy. Never share someone’s identity without their permission.

Inclusive spaces don’t make people wonder whether honesty will cost them their safety or belonging.
They make it clear: You are welcome here, exactly as you are.
And that is the kind of community we all have the power to build.

YOUR SUPPORT IS WHAT KEEP OUT MOVING

A gift does not stop at a donation page. It keeps moving.

It becomes an opportunity for an LGBTQ+ athlete to access support.
It helps a coach learn how to serve their community more intentionally.
It strengthens programs, resources and partnerships designed to make movement more accessible.
It gives our small team the ability to answer the next email, welcome the next athlete, support the next fitness space and keep building toward a future where LGBTQ+ people can care for their health without compromising who they are.

This is what your support makes possible.
This is belonging in action.

Celebrate OUT’s 15 years of movement and belonging, and help us power the next chapter with a gift of any amount.

MICROAGGRESIONS AND ITS IMPACT….

Microaggressions are everyday comments, assumptions, or behaviors (intentional or not) that communicate bias or make someone feel less welcome because of who they are.

A “joke.”
A stereotype.
A comment about someone’s body or identity.
Repeatedly using the wrong pronouns.

How to manage it:
🏳️‍🌈 Interrupt the behavior, not the person.
“That comment could be hurtful. Can we rephrase it?”
🏳️‍🌈 Center impact over intent.
Not meaning harm does not erase the harm caused.
🏳️‍🌈 Challenge the assumption.
Offer accurate information instead of allowing bias to go unanswered.
🏳️‍🌈 Support the person affected.
Check in, listen, and follow their lead.

Everyday choices can reinforce barriers or help dismantle them.
Base yours on what will leave the room better.

Being visible should never mean having to prove who you are.
Bi+ people are too often asked to explain, defend, or prove who they are... even within our (LGBTQ+) community.

Today, on Bi+ Visibility Day, we are saying this clearly:
🫶🏼 You do not need to choose a side.
🫶🏼 Your identity is not determined by your partner.
🫶🏼 You do not owe anyone anything.

First observed in 1999, Bi+ Visibility Day celebrates the history, resilience, joy, and contributions of bi+ people while challenging the stereotypes and erasure that continue to make people feel unseen.

To every bi+ athlete, coach, trainer, gym owner, partner, and community member: you are seen, you are valued, and you are essential to the community we are building.
Not only today. Every day.

Share this post—and continue listening to, learning from, and celebrating bi+ voices throughout the year.

No one should have to shrink themselves to fit in.

Trans and nonbinary people should not have to hide, explain, or change who they are to access fitness, sports, or wellness.

The responsibility belongs to the people shaping and leading those spaces.

Belonging begins before someone walks through the door… It starts in your website language, registration forms, facility information, policies, and how your staff responds when harm happens.

For someone who has experienced exclusion, these details answer an important question:
Was this space built with people like me in mind?
The answer should be clear.

Inclusive spaces don’t make people search for signs that they will be respected. They make that commitment visible, and live it through everyday action.

These steps are only a beginning. But they can build the momentum that moves inclusion from intention to everyday practice.

Wellness is for everyone. Build a space that reflects that.

15 years OUT… and looking this good is just a bonus. 😏

To celebrate 15 years of breaking down barriers, building community, sweating for a cause, and in honor of National Coming OUT Day, we dropped the OUT 15 Collection.

It’s more than a tee.
It’s a statement.
It’s a celebration of every step taken to live authentically, out loud, and in community.

When you wear OUT, you aren’t just styling a fit. You are funding our OUTAthlete Scholarships, providing critical LGBTQ+ education and training to fitness spaces, and showing everyone around you exactly where you stand and that they are safe with you.

Look good. Do good. Stand OUT.

Shop the OUT 15 Collection now at the link in our bio.

✨Already rocking your piece from the collection? Send us a picture or tag us! We would love to show you off looking good while doing good. 📸

🤸 WITHOUT CONDITIONS...
This is what movement should feel like.

Not wondering how much of yourself is safe to share.
Not bracing for judgment before you walk through the door.
Not questioning whether belonging comes with conditions.

Our LGBTQ+ community deserve spaces where we can move without fear, grow without hiding, and find community without becoming smaller versions of ourselves.

Because when we can show up fully, strength becomes more than what we lift, how fast we move, or where we finish.

It becomes confidence.
Connection.
Freedom.
Belonging.
And none of those should have to be earned.

What makes a space feel safe enough for you to be fully yourself? 👇🏼

COME OUT FOR BELONGING.
JOIN THE CHALLENGE. MAKE A GIFT. KEEP OUT MOVING.

15 years ago, our community began moving together.

One gathering became many.
Strangers became teammates.
Teammates became friends.
And those moments grew into a movement working to make fitness, health, and wellness more accessible and affirming for LGBTQ+ people.

Now, we’re inviting you to “Come OUT & Play” and help build what comes next through 15 for OUT.
WE INVITE YOU TO MOVE!

Move in a way that feels meaningful to you. Invite someone to join you. Share why this mission matters. Make a gift that helps more LGBTQ+ people access movement, support, and community.

There is no perfect way to participate.
There is your way, and a community ready to move alongside you.

We have come this far together. Together is how we’ll keep OUT moving.
