The 2026 General Support Program Preliminary Round is now open and accepting applications! This program provides funding for organizations with a substantial commitment to contemporary American concert music, jazz, or both and is open to ensembles, presenters, music service organizations, and non-profit record companies.

We are pleased to announce our 2025 Performance Program grant recipients!

158 awards totaling $896,500 were made in the areas of both general operating and project support. The Fund received applications from over 380 organizations; from these, an independent panel reviewed the applications, discussed their relative merits, and made grantee determinations.

The 2025 Supplemental Program is now open and accepting applications for general operating and project support from music service organizations, education/residency organizations, library/archive organizations, and radio/TV organizations with a history of substantial commitment to contemporary American music.

We are excited to announce a new generation of grant programs at the Aaron Copland Fund for Music! Beginning in 2026, we will be launching two new programs in place of our current Performance, Recording, and Supplemental programs: a General Support Program and a Project Support Program.

The new programs will employ a two-round system with a brief preliminary application round followed by a full application round for invited applicants. It is our hope that this two-round system will both lower the barrier to entry to our grant programs and limit the need for full applications to the most competitive applicants each year.

While these changes represent a departure from how we have historically approached grantmaking, our commitment to supporting the field remains unchanged. Read the full announcement at the link below.
