Artsaction Group

Artsaction Group ArtsAction Group is an international community-based collective. We facilitate arts initiatives with

The arts provide an ideal space for open and ongoing dialogue towards personal and social transformation. Each educational opportunity is approached in the spirit of mutual respect and participation. In order to create and sustain our work we build deep and long-lasting relationships with our hosts and communities. We do not seek to dictate culture or curriculum, but rather to co-create innovative

solutions to identified needs. As part of our work with children and youth we engage parents, educators, and local leadership as a way of creating meaning and relevance for all stakeholders. ActsAction Group actively seeks partnerships within the communities we serve as well as with other regional, national, and international organizations engaged in the arts and fostering human dignity. In light of this undertaking, we further seek to link the individuals and organizations we work with across real and imagined boundaries. Take a moment to review our organization’s anthology of past and current work and please like our page! and consider making a contribution to help us increase our efforts.

Day 5 ArtsAction Group with Sisters at Law

Today we were honored to be joined by Vinoja Tharmalingam .tharmalingam

A contemporary Sri Lankan visual artist whose powerful textile works give voice to forgotten stories; bearing witness to the lasting impact of loss, displacement, and destruction caused by the Sri Lankan civil war.

Ahead of a special visit from Sri Lankan officials, we transformed the week’s creations into a living art gallery, holding space for reflection, remembrance, and resilience.

The women surprised us with food and gifts offered in love, and we shared spoken words straight from the heart ❤️

Our final meditative breathwork session centered on the root chakra, grounding us in the reminder that we are held, connected, and supported 🙏🏾across time, space, and distance.

We closed the day with laughter, hugs, music, dancing, nourishing food, deep togetherness, and memories that will stay with us for a lifetime.

Before parting, we honored every participant with an award, celebrating the completion of the program and the courage it took to show up fully.

Words can’t capture what we cultivated in just five days.

We began as strangers and we leave as a sisterhood.

See you soon, sisters 🫶🏾🫶🏻🫶🏽🫶🏿
