While not surprising given positions Mayor Mamdani has taken for years, it is still deeply disappointing and disheartening that Mayor Mamdani will be the first mayor in the 62-year history of the Israel Day Parade to not attend this annual celebration. It is worth noting that this is nothing more than a peaceful and positive celebration of the existence of the only Jewish state in the world, and that more than 85% of American Jews feel a deep connection to Israel. At a time when Israel is faced with serious existential threats, and the New York Jewish community is experiencing record levels of antisemitism, it speaks volumes that the mayor can’t even bring himself to make an appearance at the city’s largest and most visible Jewish celebration.

California has an antisemitism problem: 817 antisemitic incidents in 2025, including 90 targeting synagogues. AB 2664 creates safety zones so families can enter and leave their places of worship without fear or harassment, while still protecting the right to protest. Two-thirds of Californians support it. Now the legislature should too.

Today marks one year since the horrific shooting at the Lillian & Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., which took the lives of Sarah Milgrim z”l and Yaron Lischinsky z”l. They were murdered while attending a Jewish community event by our partner AJC - American Jewish Committee. This tragedy was a sobering reminder of the persistent threat of violent antisemitism in the United States.

This past March, we were honored to hear from Sarah’s parents, who spoke about their beautiful daughter, their grief and how the Jewish community has become their family during this unimaginably difficult time.

May the memories of Sarah and Yaron forever be a blessing, and may we all remain committed to the work against antisemitism and hate.

A new ADL report found that Cloudflare provides infrastructure to websites tied to ISIS propaganda, violent extremism, antisemitic hate, and gore forums linked to deadly attacks. These sites rely on companies willing to keep them online. Cloudflare must take accountability. It needs clear, upfront rules about the type of content it will not allow on its websites. Otherwise, by helping dangerous content stay online and reach audiences, Cloudflare allows these networks to grow.
