Leap Forward is our post-high school one-year college placement and career transition program.

This journey can start as early as 6th grade or even younger. It begins with exposure, encouragement, real world experiences, mentor connections and a whole village of people who believe in what a young person can become.

Recently, we sat down with parents, middle schoolers, high schoolers, and career changers across North and South Carolina. Together, we explored what this transition really looks like, and how families and communities can get ready for it side by side.

We shouldn’t wait to talk about the future. We build it together, one opportunity, one connection, and one encouraging conversation at a time.

Here’s what we talked about:

✅ Volunteer opportunities to build work experience and leadership skills way before graduation
✅ Resume templates to help participants show off their strengths
✅ Upcoming scholarship opportunities to explore and apply for to make college affordable
✅ Practical ways parents and caring adults can support the journey early

Which one of these would help your family most right now?

It takes a village. Let’s be part of theirs. Become a partner and Leap forward with us.Link in Bio

InspireHER STEM just received the DREAMS Foundation SC Global STEM Excellence Award for 2026–2027, plus a grant to keep growing our work in South Carolina and Kenya. We cannot be more grateful for this support.

It means a lot. It traces back to a partnership that started four years ago and changed everything for us.

Since teaming up with DREAMS Foundation, we’ve been able to:

🌐 Keep our Kenya programs connected, even where reliable internet is a daily challenge.
💻 Expand virtual life-skills and professional-development sessions for girls and mentors.
✏️ Upgrade our academic support program in Kenya from chalkboards to whiteboards (that upgrade matters more than it sounds).
🇺🇸 Build new connections that grew our reach right here in the U.S.

Four years ago, this was one partnership. Today, it’s a whole network of people showing up for girls in STEM, and we’re just getting started.

Which update surprised you most? The award, the connectivity, the whiteboards, or the U.S. growth? Tell us below 👇

Picture a girl walking into a STEM club for the first time. She’s not sure she belongs there yet.

A year later, she is the one showing the next girl how to build her first animation on scratch or even how to simply save homework on the computer.

A few years after that, she gets a scholarship to fly to the USA for a residential STEM camp. Maybe she’s in university. Maybe she started her own business. Maybe she’s running a STEM project in her own community. And somewhere behind her, another girl is doing exactly what she once did.

This isn’t just how we hope things go. It’s the actual path: Learner, then Educator, then Community Leader. It’s carried girls through our program for nine years now, in South Carolina and Vihiga County, Kenya, with other locations joining soon.

The cycle doesn’t end when a girl “graduates.” It just means she’s ready to hold the door open for the next girl coming up.

That’s the whole model: one girl at a time, and none of them standing alone.

Want to be part of what happens next? Mentor a girl, sponsor a scholar, or partner with us.

Imagine a girl who once sat in the back of the STEM Club… eventually becoming the person standing at the front.

At first, she may need someone to show her how.

Someone to say:

“Try it.”

“Ask the question.”

“Don’t worry if it doesn’t work the first time.”

“Let’s figure it out together.”

And slowly, something changes.

She starts raising her hand.

She tries something new.

She builds her very first computer model.

She stops worrying so much about getting it “right.”

She begins to see herself differently.

“Maybe I CAN do this.”

That shift matters.

Because sometimes the first step toward a STEM career isn’t learning how to code or build a robot.

It’s believing:

“I belong here”

International mission to space accomplished! 🚀Future Astronaut loading..

InspireHER STEM began with bold dreams that once seemed impossible. This year, we welcomed another mentee from Kenya 🇰🇪 to a space residential camp.
Girls say, “I don’t know what I want to do.” We answer: “Let me show you all the possibilities.” STEM expands possibilities. Celebrate every dreamer’s journey and partner with InspireHER STEM.

It's never to early to dream.

It starts with one girl and one STEM club meeting.

She’s unsure at first; by the end of the session, she’s leading her table. That’s what we call the Full Circle Model: learner becomes educator, educator becomes community leader. We’ve watched this cycle repeat in South Carolina and in Vihiga County, Kenya since 2016. It works because girls don’t just learn STEM; they own it, then pass it on.

Follow us to meet the girls behind this model.

What happens after a girl joins InspireHER STEM Club? We help create a pathway from curious learner → confident builder → future innovator.

For schools, that means STEM becomes more than another enrichment activity.

For families, it means their daughter has another place where her questions are welcomed.

For partners, it means your investment can help create access to experiences that change how a girl sees her future.

A girl can’t become what she never gets the opportunity to imagine or experience.

That’s why access matters.

That’s why STEM Clubs matter.

And that’s why we’re building the circle.

Your support helps us reach the next girl.

Comment “STEM” if you believe every girl deserves the opportunity to see herself as a creator and innovator.

We’re a small team with a big mission. We’re looking for IT professionals, educators, and community partners who want to show up alongside us.
