Rodney will be remembered for his kindness, his passion for education, and his vision for bringing people together.
He founded our International Festival, creating a meaningful platform where students and the community could celebrate and share their diverse cultures.
His efforts greatly supported the mission of the Spring Valley Education Foundation and left a lasting impact on our school and community
Our hearts are truly broken. Rodney’s spirit, warmth, and dedication touched so many lives and will continue to live on through the traditions he started and the students he inspired.

Rest in peace, Rodney. You will be deeply missed.

Leave Your Legacy at Spring Valley High School – Viking Brick Campaign!

The Spring Valley Education Foundation is excited to launch the Viking Legacy Brick Campaign — a permanent way for alumni, the Class of 2026, families, and local businesses to show their Viking pride while supporting our students and teachers.

Personalized engraved bricks start at just $100 and will be proudly installed in the courtyard next to the flagpole at the front entrance of Spring Valley High School (Columbia, SC). Your name,
graduation year, family message, or business logo will become a lasting part of SVHS history.

Who it’s for:
 All Spring Valley alumni (any class year)
 Class of 2026 seniors & families — secure your spot now!
 Community businesses and supporters
Every brick is 100% tax-deductible and directly funds classroom grants, scholarships, and
innovative programs at Spring Valley.
Bricks start at $100 • Multiple sizes and options available

Spaces are limited — don’t miss your chance to leave a forever mark on Viking Nation!
