The mission of the Association is to promote and advance the state park systems of America for their own significance, as well as for their important contributions to the nation’s environment, heritage, health and economy. The Association is composed of fifty state park directors, plus territories of the United States of America, including our newest member, Puerto Rico that have full membership privileges in the organization.

Our final moderator we will introduce today is the Deputy Director of Business Administration for Oregon State Parks, Stefanie C***s.

Her demonstrated leadership abilities made her the choice to step in as Interim Director for the Park Service this year during the Directors seven-month temporary re-assignment. Stepfanie, a University of Oregon graduate, has a reputation for building strong teams and we are excited to have her helping manage part of our conference.

Our next moderator has 24 years working in Alaska State Parks and at one point in his career managed over 2.3 million acres of park land with a staff of 9. He has two degrees from the University of Idaho. As Operations Manager he oversees Staff responsible for 3.2 million acres over 157 park units.

Matt is looking forward to helping keep our attendees on track in Louisiana.

It's meet your moderators Monday. Our conference is quickly approaching so let's introduce some of the people who are going to help keep it flowing smoothly.

Let's start with Devan Chavez, the Deputy Director from Utah Division of State Parks . He is a graduate of Southern Utah University who enjoys all the great outdoor opportunities in Utah with his family. Devan will be managing several of our concurrent sessions for us.
