It is with a heavy heart that we share
the news of the passing of
Nancy Severance Roylance
On Tuesday, November 11th.

Nancy was a member of the block association for about 40 years, serving as its co-president, vice president and most recently treasurer. She was a force in helping to clean up the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in the 80’s and 90’s.

But most of all she was a dear and wonderful friend and neighbor.

Last week, the Community Advisory Committee voted 4-2 against a casino in Times Square.

Your voices made the difference: thousands of calls and emails, packed hearings, and unwavering grassroots power saved our neighborhood.

Thank you to the elected officials — State Senator Liz Krueger, Assembly Member Tony Simone, Borough President Mark Levine and Council Member Erik Bottcher — who stood up for our community.

Lou was a long time resident (40+ years) of West 47th Street, as well as a member of the West 47th/48th Streets Block Association. He was an award winning singer, songwriter, great neighbor and above all, a good friend! We send our deepest condolences to his family.
