❤️ Princess Elsa, DJ the Duck, and parents with poms?! 😂

Yep, just another weekend in our Flurries world! Halloween definitely brought the FUN this week, and between all the costumes, candy, smiles, and laughs, we have SO much to share!

📣 Over at Flurries Unified All Stars Cheerleading & Dance Cheer practice, Princess Elsa made a special appearance on the coaching staff! ❄️👑 With our first performance getting closer and closer, our teams are continuing to run full-outs and make some great progress with their stunting technique! We even had a little surprise for our Flurries parents when we invited them onto the mat to shake some poms alongside their athletes! Let’s just say we may have discovered some hidden talent! 😂❤️

⚽ Flutter Unified All Stars Athletics Soccer was full of Halloween fun this week! 🎃 Our athletes got to combine a little trick-or-treating with soccer before wrapping up practice with some fun soccer games! And of course, Coach Kerrie and DJ the Duck made sure there were plenty of smiles and laughs along the way! 😂❤️

📚 Rie’s Readers has been busy, busy, busy! We have been working on scheduling upcoming book donations and are already looking ahead to the new year! With our family officially on baby watch, we’re making sure we leave a little room in the calendar for our newest addition! 👶❤️

And somehow, in between all that Halloween fun, we managed to squeeze in a few more exciting things!

We had the opportunity to share our story with the Fall River Rotary Club, talking about how our nonprofit began, our mission, our programs, and of course, our incredible athletes! We absolutely loved meeting everyone who makes their Rotary Club so special!

We officially wrapped up our Let’s Get Merry & Bright fundraiser, and WOW! 🎄❤️ This was by far our most successful fundraiser yet! Our Flurries families, friends, and supporters really showed up, and we couldn’t be more thankful for everyone who helped make it such a success!

And speaking of the holidays… our DJ and photo booth are officially BOOKED for our holiday party! 🎶📸 We’ve been talking themes, decorations, and all the little details that will make this such a fun night! We cannot wait to bring all of our programs together for an evening of celebrating, laughing, and making memories!

And before we wrap up this week’s gratitude, we need to talk about our weekly photo assignments. 😂 Coach Kerrie clearly UNDERSTOOD the assignment this week, while our Treasurer James may have missed the costume memo just a little bit! 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 We’ll give him another chance next year!

Another week full of the moments that remind us why we love doing what we do. The smiles, the friendships, the laughter, and a whole lot of people coming together to make it all happen. ❤️

❤️ We LOVE Sharing Our Story! ❤️

A big thank you to The Rotary Club of Fall River, MA for inviting us to join one of their meetings!

If you know us, you know we could talk about Flurries Unified All Stars all day! 😂❤️

We absolutely love getting the opportunity to share how our nonprofit began, the story of our mom and how she continues to inspire so much of what we do, how our programs have grown, and the mission behind it all. But let’s be honest, our favorite part is always getting to talk about our AMAZING athletes! They are the reason we do what we do, and we could go on and on about them!

Every time we get to share our story, it’s another opportunity to introduce people to our programs, spread a little more awareness about inclusion, and show just how many possibilities there are when everyone is given the opportunity to participate.

It was also so much fun getting to see the Fall River Rotary Club in action and meeting so many of the wonderful people who help make their club so special! ❤️

Beginning November 1, we’ll be giving away a prize EVERY SINGLE DAY throughout the month! That’s 30 days of prizes, including gift cards, local experiences, and a few mystery surprises along the way! 👀🎄

And the best part? Every entry helps us continue providing our cheerleading and dance programs completely FREE for athletes of all abilities! 💜

💜✨ A Little Bit of Everything & a Whole Lot of Happiness! ✨💜

Another week in the books, and as usual, there was a little bit of everything happening across our programs! Lots of smiles, a little sparkle, some exciting things in the works, and of course, a few laughs along the way! 💜

📣 Flurries Unified All Stars Cheerleading & Dance cheer teams had our dress rehearsal this weekend, which meant uniforms were on, bows were in, and the sparkle was everywhere! ✨ There is just something so special about seeing our new athletes’ faces light up when they put on their uniforms for the very first time! And for our returning athletes, we love seeing the pride and excitement that comes with putting that uniform back on. They know just how much fun is ahead of them, and we can’t wait to make even more memories together this season!

And speaking of bows… apparently all those new sparkly bows meant Hannah needed another wheelie bag. 😂🩷 So now we have a PINK one to go along with the purple one! We’re pretty sure Coach Kerrie is judging, but she’s being nice enough not to say anything. 🤷🏻‍♀️

🎄 Our Let’s Get Merry & Bright Calendar Fundraiser is still going strong! We are selling tickets through the end of October, and thanks to so many generous local businesses, we have some pretty amazing prizes to give away throughout November! Every ticket sold helps support our cheerleading program, and we are so thankful for everyone who has supported us!

And while we’re talking about ways to support us… unfortunately, our Venmo impersonator is STILL at it! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Please make sure you’re donating to our official Flurries Unified All Stars charity account () and not the wannabe personal account pretending to be us. We love the enthusiasm, but we’d prefer they find their own identity! 😂

⚽ Over at Flutter Unified All Stars Athletics, we were FINALLY back on the soccer field! Between the holiday closure and then the rain, it felt like forever since we had seen our soccer athletes! This week our Flutter Squad athletes had their very first opportunity to try out gameplay, and it was so much fun watching them get out there and enjoy it!

We’re also getting things ready for our Flutter Cup on Sunday, November 8! 🏆 Another opportunity to celebrate our athletes, their hard work, and all the progress they’ve made this season. We can’t wait!

📚 Over at Rie’s Readers , James has been busy making connections and working on upcoming donations as we prepare to bring our Pages of Possibilities program into local New Bedford public schools! We love every opportunity to get into classrooms, share some wonderful books, and talk about kindness, friendship, and inclusion. ❤️

Hannah and James also had the opportunity to meet with The Schwartz School, part of Meeting Street, this week, and we’re looking forward to seeing what opportunities to work together may come from that connection!

And just so everyone knows… when Hannah requested selfies for this week’s post, James understood the assignment and sent his right over. 📸 Coach Kerrie, on the other hand, politely declined. 😂 So, since she has once again managed to avoid having her picture taken, we’ve taken matters into our own hands. Please enjoy her AI-generated selfie! We’re pretty sure she is going to LOVE this one! 🤣⚽

Another week filled with the little moments that remind us why we love what we do. Whether it’s seeing an athlete in uniform for the first time, watching someone try something new, or making connections that will help us reach even more children in our community, it all means so much to us.

We are so thankful for the families, volunteers, businesses, and community members who continue to support us and help make all of this possible! 💜

⚽🧡 IT’S FRIDAYYYYY!!! 🧡⚽

And you know what that means?!?!

SOCCER IS BACK TOMORROW!!! 🙌🎉

After TWO weeks away from the soccer field, one thanks to a holiday and the other thanks to Mother Nature not cooperating, we are MORE than ready to get our Flutter Unified Soccer athletes back in action! 😂⚽

And guess what?! Tomorrow’s forecast is showing SUNSHINE! ☀️🙌 We’re taking that as a good sign!

We have some catching up to do! Two weeks’ worth of smiles, laughter, high fives, friendships, and SOCCER FUN! 🧡

Clearly, Coach Kerrie and Coach Hannah are just a LITTLE excited! 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

❤️ A New Addition We Hope We Never Need! 🤞

Hopefully this is one new addition that never gets put to use! 🤞😂 In fact, we would be perfectly happy if it spent its days collecting dust!

Thanks to one of our wonderful volunteers, Colby, and the City of New Bedford Health Department, Flurries Unified All Stars now has an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)!

As our programs continue to grow, so does the importance of making sure we have safety measures in place for our athletes, coaches, and volunteers. Having an AED available adds another important layer of safety to our programs and a little extra peace of mind!

A HUGE thank you to Colby and the City of New Bedford Health Department for helping make this happen! We are so grateful for the people in our community who continue to support our programs and help us make them even better! ❤️💜

❤️ A Little Sunday Gratitude! ❤️

Another week, another reminder of just how much we have to be grateful for!

This week at Flurries Unified All Stars Cheerleading & Dance, our cheer teams showed up in a BIG way! 💪 We guess it’s true what our T-shirts say… we really do have the BEST TEAM EVER! 😉 Although, if you ask Flurries, Flurry Force, or Flurry Fury, you might get three very different opinions on which team is actually the best! 😂

All three teams started running full outs this week, and we couldn’t be prouder! To look at where these athletes were at the start of the season compared to where they are today is truly remarkable. We are further ahead at this point in the season than we’ve ever been, and that says so much about the hard work, dedication, and growth of our athletes and coaches. In just THREE short weeks, we’ll be performing at Gillette Stadium, and we cannot wait to see these teams shine! 💜

Mother Nature really hasn’t been on our side when it comes to Flutter Unified All Stars Athletics soccer this season! 🌧️ Another rainy Saturday meant another weekend without our athletes on the field, and we really do miss seeing everyone together! It’s hard to believe we’re already this far into the season, especially with the number of Saturdays we’ve lost to the weather. We’ve started preparing for our upcoming Flutter Cup, and we can’t believe how quickly the season is going by! ⚽❤️

On a happier soccer note, Coach Kerrie and her family got to enjoy a night at Gillette Stadium thanks to TOPSoccer, who generously offered free tickets to all of our soccer families! ⚽🏟️ We’re so appreciative of TOPSoccer for thinking of our athletes and giving our families an opportunity to enjoy a night of soccer together! ❤️

Over at Rie’s Readers , we were excited to announce the return of our Marie “Rie” Feliciano Pages of Possibilities Academic Scholarship! 📚❤️ Created in memory of Hannah and James’ mom, this $500 scholarship will help a graduating high school senior purchase college textbooks as they begin their next chapter in the fall. Rie had such a love for reading, and being able to carry a little piece of that forward through another student’s journey is something that means so much to us.

We also have some extra reasons to be grateful this week! ❤️ We received a donation from the City of New Bedford Department of Health, and we cannot wait to share a little more about that with everyone this week! We also had a surprise donation arrive in the mail! Those unexpected moments continue to remind us that our reach is growing beyond the families we see each week. Knowing that people throughout our community are hearing about our mission and choosing to support what we’re building means so much to us. Every donation, big or small, helps us continue offering our programs completely free to our athletes and families.

And speaking of fundraising… apparently our Let’s Get Merry & Bright cheerleading fundraiser is getting so much attention that someone decided to create a fake Venmo account pretending to be us! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 While we certainly could have done without that excitement this week, we are so appreciative of everyone who helped spread the word and make sure donations were going to the right place!

❤️ Happy Heavenly 71st Birthday to One of Our Biggest Reasons Why! ❤️

Today, we’re sending a very special heavenly birthday wish to our mom, Marie “Rie” Feliciano. ❤️

The joy, love, kindness, and laughter Mom brought into this world continue to inspire so much of what we do. She absolutely loved to read, which is why Rie’s Readers is such special way for us to honor her memory. Through stories, we get to share the same messages of kindness, friendship, inclusion, and love for others that meant so much to her. While we wish she were here to see everything that has grown in her memory, we hope a little piece of her continues to shine through every child we reach and every story we share. ❤️📚

And what better day than today to announce that, for the second year, we will be awarding the Marie Feliciano “Pages of Possibilities” Academic Scholarship! 🎓📚

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School to help purchase college textbooks. It feels especially fitting that a scholarship in Mom’s memory helps a student continue their education, with a little help toward their books.

If you’d like to contribute toward this year’s scholarship, donations can be made through our Venmo . Every contribution helps us continue this special tradition in her memory. ❤️

And we can’t celebrate Mom’s birthday without wishing her twin sister, our Aunt Liz, a VERY Happy 71st Birthday, too! 🥳❤️ If you’ve spent time around our cheerleading or athletics programs, there’s a good chance you’ve seen Aunt Liz cheering on our athletes and supporting our Flurries family!

❤️ A Little Weekly Gratitude! ❤️

We kicked off our week celebrating our soon-to-be newest addition to the Flurries family! 💙🍼

We spent time with family and friends showering our Treasurer, James, and Karina as they prepare for the arrival of their baby boy! And naturally, we couldn’t let the celebration go by without making sure this little guy has some Flurries gear waiting for him when he arrives! 💙

And finally… CHEERLEADING WAS BACK! 💜📣

For some reason, two weeks without cheerleading felt like an absolute eternity. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe we’re being a little dramatic, but we really missed our Saturday mornings together!

Our Flurries Unified All Stars Cheerleading & Dance cheerleaders jumped right back in and got to work, picking up where we left off and getting ready for everything coming our way this season!

But one of our favorite parts of Saturday had nothing to do with routines. It was watching our athletes see each other again. The smiles, the hugs, the excitement, and the genuine love these kids have for one another just make our hearts melt. 🥹💜

Over at Flutter Unified All Stars Athletics, our athletes enjoyed a well-deserved break this weekend after all the excitement of last week’s soccer jamboree! ⚽❤️

We had family travel into town to celebrate James who were also able to join us at last weekend’s jamboree! There is always something special about having family experience our programs for the first time. We talk about what we do all the time, but there’s nothing quite like being there and experiencing it firsthand. We were so happy to have them there to share in such a wonderful weekend! ❤️

Meanwhile, behind the scenes with Rie’s Readers , Hannah had a chance to meet with Lily, also known as our illustrator! 🎨📚 We’re continuing to work on a very special project, and while we’re not quite ready to share all the details, we’re having so much fun watching this little idea come to life. We can’t wait to share more!

As we wrap up another week, we’re feeling especially grateful for the families who have become friends, the volunteers who make all of this possible, and the people who continue to support and believe in our little organization and its big dreams. ❤️
