🎙️ One thing we need to clear up…

This wasn’t just a Hannah interview. James was there too. 😂💜

As you know, last weekend James and I had the opportunity to join Brian’s Biz Beat to talk all things Flurries Unified All Stars, Inc.

We talked about our Flurries Unified All Stars Cheerleading & Dance, Flutter Unified All Stars Athletics, and Rie’s Readers programs, how Flurries began as a way to honor our mom’s legacy, and how that dream has grown into an organization that has now served more than 90 athletes and 75 families.

We also shared some of the exciting things happening across our programs as we continue creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities throughout our community.

Now, if you listen closely, you’ll probably notice that one of us spent a little more time talking than the other. 😂 But I was grateful to have the opportunity to share the microphone with my brother, our Treasurer, and my partner in building Flurries from the very beginning.

📚❤️ As the school year wraps up this week, we wanted to share some of the fabulous thank-you cards our Rie’s Readers team received from Mrs. Lopes’ students!

These sweet notes are exactly why we love bringing books into classrooms and creating conversations about kindness, friendship, inclusion, and social emotional learning.

One card gave us a good laugh:
“I know, Khloe, that you don’t like to read…” 😂

And honestly? They’re not wrong. Khloe may not be the biggest reader, but she absolutely loves visiting classrooms, connecting with students, and sharing books that celebrate diversity in friendships and social emotional learning. Sometimes it’s not just about reading the book—it’s about the conversations, connections, and understanding that come from it.

Thank you to Mrs. Lopes and her amazing students for welcoming us into your classroom and for taking the time to create these thoughtful cards. They mean more than you know. ❤️

⚾🏆 It may be Monday, but we’re already thinking about the weekend… 🏆⚾

Because this Sunday, it’s time for the Flutter Cup!

The awards are ready.

The teams are ready.

The Flutter Cup is ready.

And it seems Coach Khloe is ready 😂

And our athletes are ready to take the field one more time as we celebrate the conclusion of our inaugural Flutter Baseball season.

What started as a brand-new sport for Flutter became so much more than baseball. Over the past several weeks, we’ve watched athletes step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, make new friends, and create memories that will last long after the final pitch is thrown.

As we celebrate Season 1, we’d also like to thank the Southcoast Business Alliance for serving as our inaugural baseball season sponsor. Their support helped make this free program possible and provided opportunities for athletes of all abilities to experience the joy of being part of a team.

This isn’t just a baseball event.

It’s a celebration of every athlete, every volunteer, every family, and every supporter who helped make Season 1 a success.

So grab your lawn chairs, bring your signs, and invite your family and friends to pack the sidelines as we cheer on our athletes and celebrate everything they’ve accomplished this season.

Some weeks remind us just how far Flurries has come. ❤️

Between Flurries Unified All Stars Cheerleading & Dance and Flutter Unified All Stars Athletics, we’ve now served more than 90 athletes from over 75 families.

Ninety athletes who found a team.
Seventy-five families who found a community.
Countless friendships, memories, milestones, and moments that remind us why this work matters.

And this weekend gave us even more reasons to be grateful.

We spent Saturday at Westport River Day, where Hannah and Kerrie joined our friends from Westport SEPAC to meet families, make connections, and share information about Flurries with the community.

Later that afternoon, James and Hannah made their radio debut, joining Brian Thomas on Brian’s Biz Beat to talk all things Flurries. It was an exciting opportunity to share our mission, highlight our athletes, and talk about the impact being made every day through our programs.

Today, we wrapped up our weekend in one of our favorite ways—at baseball practice with our athletes and families. We also got to spend Father’s Day with some pretty amazing Flutter dads who continue to show up, support their athletes, and help make our programs possible. ⚾🧡

Behind the scenes, preparations for our Baseball Flutter Cup continued as we placed our order for athlete awards this week. It’s hard to believe we’re now just one week away from celebrating another amazing season with our athletes and families.

We’re also gearing up for the start of our summer sports programs and can’t wait to welcome new and returning athletes to the field. Be on the lookout—we’ll be sharing start dates and additional information soon! 🏈☀️

This week, we’re grateful for every family that trusts us, every volunteer who gives their time, every community partner who supports our mission, and every athlete who reminds us why this work matters.

🎙️🚨 Flurries made it to the radio! 🚨🎙️

Today, Hannah and James joined Brian's Beat Talk Show to talk about Flurries Unified All Stars, our mission, and the incredible athletes who inspire us every day.

From our first program to now serving more than 90 athletes across multiple programs, the growth has been amazing—and we’re just getting started.

We loved having the opportunity to share our story, celebrate our athletes, and spread the message that every child deserves a place to belong.

A huge thank you to Brian Thomas for having us on the show and to our families, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who make everything we do possible.

This wasn’t just a conversation about Flurries.

It was a conversation about inclusion, opportunity, and believing in every athlete who walks through our doors.

This new FREE program is made possible through the support of the United Way of Greater New Bedford, and we can’t wait to bring another inclusive sports opportunity to our community.

Some weeks are busy. Some weeks are unforgettable. This was one of those weeks. 🙌

This week was all about celebrating our athletes while also looking ahead to everything still to come.

Our Flurries Unified All Stars Cheerleading & Dance dancers wrapped up their season with an incredible showcase, welcoming more than 120 family members and friends to celebrate their accomplishments. From stretches and sa-shays to leaps and performances, our athletes took the floor with confidence and joy. We celebrated each dancer with trophies and, of course, finished the day with donuts!

Over on the baseball field, our Flutter Unified All Stars Athletics Flutter Squad athletes wrapped up their season with medals, popsicles, and plenty of smiles. Watching our athletes grow in confidence, make friends, and have fun is always what it’s all about.

While our programs were busy celebrating, James spent Saturday morning representing Flurries Unified All Stars at the Kennedy-Donovan Center Community Resource Fair, connecting with new families and sharing our mission of inclusion with the community.

Behind the scenes, we also began preparing for what’s next. This week we released interest forms for cheerleading, flag football, and volunteers as we continue planning for an exciting summer and fall season. We’re also working on something special for our junior volunteers and can’t wait to share more details soon!

As always, we are grateful for our athletes, families, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters. Because of you, we’re able to continue creating opportunities where every athlete belongs and every ability is celebrated.

It’s almost Saturday, and our favorite kind of weekend is finally here — a weekend dedicated to celebrating our athletes. ❤️

Tomorrow, we kick off the celebrations with our very first Flurries Unified All Stars Cheerleading & Dance Dance Showcase! We can’t wait for family and friends to see the performances our dancers have worked so hard on over the past several months. After the performances, we’ll celebrate our dancers with awards and, of course, some donuts.

Then on Sunday, it’s time to celebrate our Flutter Unified All Stars Athletics Flutter Squad Baseball players as they wrap up their season. We’ll recognize their hard work, growth, and accomplishments with awards before cooling off with popsicles and plenty of smiles.

From the dance studio to the baseball field, our athletes have spent this season learning new skills, building friendships, growing their confidence, and reminding us that there truly are countless possibilities when everyone is given the opportunity to shine.

We can’t wait to celebrate every dancer, every baseball player, and all of the memories that made this season so special. See you this weekend! ❤️
