Community Boating Center Community Boating Center of New Bedford (CBC) is a non-profit educational organization

Community Boating Center offers a variety of educational and recreational programs throughout the year built on the rich waterfront heritage of New Bedford. Community Boating Center strives to instill in the young and continue to teach people of all ages the value of integrity, sound judgment, teamwork and environmental awareness. We do this by offering educational opportunities and access to the marine environment, regardless of means, through instruction, mentoring and coaching.

Fair winds, Haskins Class! ⛵️💨🌊

Yesterday afternoon, we had the opportunity to welcome the 8th grade Haskins Class from Nativity Prep out on the water one last time as students. Joining our CBC Youth Offshore Bermuda Team for an afternoon sail, they spent time checking out the boat and making memories together on the bay.

As they prepare for the next chapter beyond Nativity Prep, we’re wishing each student fair winds and following seas on all of their future adventures.

We hope this isn’t the end of your time on the water with us — just the beginning. We can’t wait to see where your journeys take you!

If you didn't know already, New Bedford High School students have their very own sailing club! Every Thursday in the fall and spring, students come to sail; while they started in sonars, students quickly advanced to sailing smaller dinghy's called 420's. If you're a NBHS student, (or know one) consider joining the sailing club when it starts back up in the fall of '26!
