The EPA just announced the rollback of the first national drinking water standards for PFAS chemicals, protections that would have helped 100 million Americans. Leaders with the National PFAS Contamination Coalition condemned the decision. Communities suffering from PFAS contamination won't stop fighting until every American has safe drinking water and PFAS polluters are held accountable. You can make your voice heard by contacting the EPA and your members of Congress. Tell them to defend and strengthen federal standards for PFAS.

Years ago, I learned that my struggle with endometriosis — a painful disease I'd lived with for decades — was linked to dioxins, one of many dangerous toxins emitted by the trash incinerator in my hometown of Claremont, New Hampshire. The pollution was making us sick.

So we started organizing. We showed up, pushed to be heard, disrupted the politics that fed the beast, and eventually starved it. It shut its doors in 2013, admitting to financial challenges.

When faced with these types of giant for-profit polluters that make our communities unsafe, Slingshot works alongside residents to demand just decisions and transparent processes.

Slingshot brings the smarts and hearts to help residents organize, build leadership, and develop successful plans and strategies.

Across the region, I see communities like mine coming together, building power, and winning. Together, we’ve passed stronger waste management policies, and are bringing groups together from across the region to push for better ways to tackle the waste crisis.

Here in Maine, we have no policies to protect us from the data center frenzy. But now we have the opportunity to change that. A new bill just passed in Maine's House and Senate that would temporarily ban data center development until November 2027. However, Governor Mills is threatening to veto the bill. Tell Gov. Massachusetts' first data center moratorium just passed (unanimously!!).
Leaders with Honest Future for Lowell have been organizing against the Markley Group's unchecked expansion in their neighborhood: diesel generators, surveillance cameras pointed at homes, and a proposal to store 100,000+ gallons of fuel next to families. We'll never stop saying this: when communities organize, we win! A big round of applause to all of the neighbors organizing in Lowell!
