Yesterday Walt’s held our monthly free, pop-up clothing event at our neighbors Coastal Foodshed! Racks and tables loaded with pants, shorts, bras, toiletries, purses and tops and we had shoppers lined up ready to go!

Thank you Janet & Linda for managing this event and helping our shoppers load up!

We had primarily women attending this event, but one gentleman was able to find himself some goodies that he needed. Purses were popular as well as the toiletry bin. Folks getting ready for summer taking shorts, sandals and short sleeve tops! We were happy to see a very sweet woman find herself several summer tops and other items…thankful.

Our next free, pop-up shopping event will be JUNE 25th at PACE Food Pantry in New Bedford from 3-6 pm – looking forward to a summer afternoon in the service of others! Walt’s Consignment is also bursting with tons of summer clothing for women – we have just refreshed the inventory with dresses, tops, shorts and bling! A/C is blasting so come get cool and find our favorite fashion pieces…every purchase supports Walt’s Mobile Closet. Open WED-FRI 11-5, SAT 10-5 and SUN 10-4.

Volunteers are needed for all events - please reach out if you are interested in spreading kindness, serving those in need, and having your heart filled with gratitude 💜

Most of these events are held outside and therefore weather permitting. Events held at Coastal Foodshed and our Back-to-School event are inside.

Glee...it's a word we don't hear much anymore - "high spirited joy, exultant delight' Yesterday at Pride 2026 we found it! Walt's Consignment was there selling goodies from the shop - we had this incredibly fabulous sleeveless, colorful sequin covered pantsuit - towards the end of the day a woman came up to us and said "I have to have that - I don't even care if it's my size I'll make it work" Fortunately it was exactly her size!! She didn't want a shopping bag - but instead held onto it and skipped her way through the crowd gleefully showing all who crossed her path her amazing find. 💜

This moment of glee absolutely made our day and reminded us to not only find joy (it's everywhere, you just have to look for it) but spread it...share it....be it.
