Membership Drive information--
Our goal to increase membership to 40 (or more) members before May 22nd is set! 💙Let's do this again!💛
A second Kickstarter Grant would be $1,000 for Vernon Co. programs for kids! We did it once, the FIRST club in the US to qualify for a Kickstarter Grant, and we CAN do this again!

For quick reference:
Members joining April 1-30 ($81), joining May 1-21st ($75). Applications and due payment must be received by the club secretary before May 21st to qualify for the grant goal.
2027 annual dues ($150) will be invoiced in August, due October 1.

Today was a proud and exciting moment for our Kiwanis club!
--We were honored to present a $1,000 check to Healthy Nevada in support of their Snack Pack Program, which provides nutritious food to local children after school and on weekends.
--Because our club reached more than 30 members, we were awarded this $1,000 grant — and we are putting every dollar directly back into our community. Through our partnership with Healthy Nevada and their Snack Pack Program, these funds will help ensure kids in our area have access to healthy snacks when they need them most.
--As a new Kiwanis club, this is exactly the kind of impact we hoped to make — serving children, strengthening partnerships, and stepping up to meet real needs right here at home.
--We’re grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Healthy Nevada and excited to see the difference this program will continue to make.

We’re excited to share some big news from our Kiwanis club!

💛💙Kiwanis Club of Greater Vernon Co. met today for an inspiring session centered on strengthening our service impact for local youth across our rural community.
We were honored to host district leaders, Marsha McClanahan and Les Mace, with a “Spirit of Kiwanis” presentation reinforced the principles that guide our service. Their perspectives underscored how proven traditions of volunteerism continue to move the needle for children and families in communities around the globe!

As we plan for upcoming fundraising and hands-on service projects, our members were energized by success stories from clubs that are driving meaningful outcomes for young people in similar small-town settings. It was a powerful reminder that when we stay true to our roots, we create real, lasting impact for the next generation.💙💛

Chartering members, Tina Joy Cochran and Michael Fields were recognized and received their pins & certificates.

Volunteer/ Service Opportunity!

I need 12 volunteers to assist with the On My Own simulation that the University of Missouri Extension is hosting for On My Own of Nevada during their Youth Life Camp on Oct. 22. The event is from noon to 2 p.m., and I would need the volunteers to arrive by 11:45 am until about 2:15 pm. You would be working at a station such as housing, transportation, food, etc., for the participants to experience the simulation. -- Contact:

“The On My Own program is an interactive financial simulation designed for youth. The program is delivered in Missouri by MU Extension through a partnership with the University of Tennessee Extension. During the simulation, students become the major income provider for their household, which may include a spouse and/or children. Using a hypothetical occupation and income, students work through a month of expenses, including housing, utilities, transportation, insurance, food, childcare, clothing, entertainment, and other expenses resulting from unexpected events.”
