Rotary Pond Cleanup Day!

This week, Rotarians and Junior Rotarians spent the day cleaning up Rotary Pond and helping keep our community beautiful.

We’re excited to see the new lights around SCORE and landscaping around the rock, bringing a fresh look to SCORE Park.

A big THANK YOU to Rotary District 6000 Iowa for the grant, everyone who contributed through our matching fundraising efforts, and Nevada Parks and Recreation for helping make this project possible.

It takes a community working together to make great things happen!

COLD CASES

Today, Brenna Bird gave an insightful presentation on Iowa cold cases, reminding us of the dedication and persistence it takes to seek answers and justice for families and communities.

We are grateful for the men and women who serve our communities and work every day to protect all of us. 🇺🇸

WELCOME!
We are so excited to welcome Mattia from Malnate, Italy! He will be here through the Rotary Exchange Program for the 2026-2027 school year.

Jenny & Josh Angus are not new to hosting exchange students as they hosted Mohamed from Egypt last year. Rotary is lucky to have the Angus family as hosts.

Adam and Sara, fellow Rotarians, were also there to help welcome Mattia to Iowa. They help with the exchange program, if you have any questions or may be interested in hosting an exchange student, they would be happy to speak with you.

Thank you Nevada Monument for helping Rotary Club of Nevada set our rock for Rotary Pond.

This past week Rotary members helped to set our rock at SCORE park. Thanks to Brian & Chris for taking the lead on this and the many other Rotarians who helped to make this happen.

Through a generous grant from Rotary District 6000 Iowa, we have been able to add amenities to the pond, like a place to sit in the shade, Denny’s Dock, lighting and more to come!

Rylee, Piper and Abi presented on their week at Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, RYLA. They even shared their favorite activitiy during the week. They all learned a lot about leading and themselves.

| WELCOME & THANK YOU |

Brian, thank you for your service and leadership throughout this past year. We truly appreciate all you have done for our club and community.

During his year as president, Brian helped lead the effort to build a shelter and provide seating are at Rotary Pond in SCORE Park. He also volunteered countless hours to support Rotary and our community, always with a smile on his face!

Thank you, Brian, for all you have done and continue to do for Rotary and our community. We are grateful for your dedication and service.

We look forward to Jordan leading the way in the year ahead!

Mason's Light House

Today we heard about a great project under way that could use your help!

After losing her son to a rare disease, Shanna and her husband have made it their mission to provide a Respite Care and Hospice Home for kids 0-21 years old in Iowa. After staying in a hospice home for kids in Minnesota, they wanted to bring this idea to Iowa. They currently own the land in Iowa City to build on, and are currently raising funds to build a house. The home will have four children's respite rooms and three hospice rooms connected to family suits. This will allow them to serve 250 families per year.
