Happy ! 🐝🌼 Did you know that hundreds of thousands of honeybees live on the island in the middle of Lake Watauga? The beehives were introduced by Metro Parks in 2015 to help support pollination throughout the Centennial Park, benefiting the trees, flowers, gardens, and native plants that make this urban green space thrive.

🍯 You can support these important pollinators by purchasing Centennial Park honey—a sweet reminder of the vital work happening right in the heart of Nashville. 🍯

Pollinators like bees are essential to healthy ecosystems, helping plants reproduce and supporting biodiversity across the landscape. A single hive can contain tens of thousands of bees working together to gather nectar, care for brood, and produce honey while pollinating countless blooms along the way. 🌿

Ongoing care for the Centennial Park hives is provided by the Nashville Area Beekeepers Association through support from Centennial Park Conservancy donors and proceeds from Nashville Earth Day.
