With the help of your tax-deductible donation we can continue to uphold a ZBT brotherhood built on the ideals of intellectual awareness, social responsibility, integrity, and brotherly love.

We are striving to increase financial inclusivity and diversity not only within our alpha gamma chapter but also in Vanderbilt Greek life as a whole.

By donating to our fund on Giving Day, April 4th, you are directly supporting our scholarship fund to ensure that nobody is excluded from joining our brotherhood due to fiscal constraints. Historically, we have allocated $13,000 each semester towards helping brothers in need of dues assistance. We would love to carry forward this tradition and begin scaling towards the future.

All donations over $100 will be honored on a donor wall in our fraternity house.

Thank you so much for your support and it is great to be a zeeb!

Join me and give back!

Last night, our fraternity heard from former U.S. Senate candidate James Mackler. Mr. Mackler spoke to us about his political career, law career, and his service in the military. His story has inspired us to serve others in any way we can!

Thank you, Mr. Mackler for joining our chapter meeting last night!

Yesterday, members of Zeta Tau Alpha joined us at our house to write Valentine’s cards for nursing home patients! With breakfast expertly cooked by our very own Harry Traub, we enjoyed a joint community service event that definitely brought out our creativity. It was loads of fun and we are looking forward to doing it again in the future!

This week’s new member of the week is none other than Jake Wilentz! Jake is 18 years old from Weston, Florida studying economics. He is a positive, loyal, friendly, dependable, and kind man.

Q: Why did you come to Vanderbilt?

A: “I came to Vandy because I really admired the people here; I feel there is an excellent combination of students who actually want to make a difference in the world and enjoy their college experiences.”

Q: Why did you join ZBT?

A: “I joined ZBT because the guys here were very welcoming during the rush process, and it was so easy to be my authentic self around them.”

Q: Who is your biggest role model?

A: “My dad is my biggest role model in life. He really pushes me to do my best and inspires me to pursue my passions.”

Q: What do you intend on doing when you are older?

A: “I honestly have no idea what I want to do with my life. However, whatever I do, I want to make sure that it has meaning and can make others' lives better.”

In his free time, Jake enjoys hiking, running, listening to music, going to coffeeshops and concerts, and have a great time with family and friends. Jake is a truly remarkable young man and the Alpha Gamma chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity is lucky to have him. Congratulations, Jake! You are the Iota class new member of the week!

This week’s Iota class new member of the week is Ethan Cohen! Ethan is 18 years old from Armonk, NY. He is a passionate, charismatic, hard working man who is always eager for a nice time with friends.

Q: What would you like to do when you are older?

A: “Although I have not decided on a major, I am interested in going to law school and becoming involved in some sort of medical law/management. This is a combination of both of my interests in the sciences, public health and policy.”

Q: Who has inspired you the most in your life?

A: “I’m inspired by my grandparents because they are all immigrants and had to flee their homes in search of a better life in America. Not only was it a struggle being Jewish, but the language barrier and all the discrimination at the time made it all that much harder. They gave my parents the tools for success that were then bequeathed to me and I could never be more grateful.”

Q: Why did you join ZBT?:

A: “I joined ZBT because of the amazing men that are already a part of this chapter. They all had inspired me so much during the rush process that I decided these are the men that I want to surround myself with in my years to follow at Vanderbilt.”

Congratulations, Ethan! You are ZBT's new member of the week!

This week’s new member of the week is Max Schulman! He is 18 years old from Plainview, NY majoring in political science. Representing the tallest portion of the Iota class, Max is a motivated young man who is always looking to better himself those around him. He is confident in his beliefs yet empathetic to others.

Q: Who has inspired you the most in your life? Why?

A: “Easy. Bernie Sanders. I’d always seen politicians as career-oriented social climbers who’ll do anything for fundraising and reelection. Seeing his cinderella primary run in 2016, funded not by super PAC’s but by small donations by everyday people, showed to me that you can be genuine and successful. It doesn’t have to be a tradeoff. You can be a firebrand Democratic socialist and keep a Senate seat.”

Q: What do you want to be when you get older? Why?

A: “I plan on going to law school and starting in public defense, helping out people whom society and the courts have cast off to the periphery. As an idealistic SJW, I want to help people in the most direct way possible. Farther in the future, I hope to make a foray into public interest law, such as with civil rights, and from there make a run for office. All throughout, I want my focus to be on making people’s lives better, whether that’s keeping a troubled kid out of the prison system or advocating for single-payer healthcare.”

Q: What are you involved in at Vanderbilt?

A: “Currently, I am the Opinion Editor for the Vanderbilt Hustler. It’s a huge time commitment that I’d equate to taking three or four credit hours. Along with that, I’m a starting middle for Vandy’s Men’s Club Volleyball Team. Finally, I’m becoming educated as a new member of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity.”

Max says that he joined ZBT because “ZBT was founded as an institution that was open to Jews who weren’t given an opportunity to be members of a fraternity” and that he believed in connecting to his Jewish heritage and the mission of the fraternity.

The Alpha Gamma Chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity would like to welcome Max Schulman to the brotherhood, your Iota class new member of week!

This week’s Iota class new member of the week is: Matt Becker. Mr. Becker is 19 years old from Wyckoff, New Jersey. He is a freshman studying psychology at Vanderbilt University.

In his free time, he plays basketball, socializes with friends, and sleeps like a koala. When he graduates, he plans on attending medical school with the intentions of becoming a doctor. If he could meet any person dead or alive, he would choose Abraham Lincoln.

Mr. Becker joined the Alpha Gamma Chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity because he believes that it is the closest brotherhood that he has seen. He views ZBT as “a bunch of great guys who have a great time and care about each other.”

Congratulations, Matt Becker! You're the Iota class new member of the week!
