TFA is attempting to interview candidates for governor on 2nd Amendment issues prior to the general election. So far, David Hatley has completed his interview. Pinkston has said she would interview. Blackburn and Green have not responded.

TFA is running a voluntary participation preference poll on the November race for governor. The poll remains active (link below). The poll has had a substantial number of participants - enough to start showing some patterns.

Without detailing the status of the poll's results at this time, here are some interesting bits of information.

1) The poll asks participants to provide a political preference. There were no self-identified Democrats. About 10% identified as independent. Of the remaining approximate 90% the vast majority reflected primarily variations on Republican or GOP or MAGA.

2) Two candidates dominated the results so far with other candidates receiving 1% or less and the category of "other/write-in" receiving a trailing third of the total vote.

3) A Mason-Dixon Tennessee voter poll in January 2026 produced a result of 38% Republican, 27% Democratic, and 35% independent/other. An analysis of other polls in 2025 and 2026 indicated that the range of all voters identifying as something other than Republican in Tennessee was about 53–62%.

4) The TFA results suggests preferences within a population that heavily self-identifies as Republican. It contains very letter preference indication from the 53% to 62% that various polls categorize as non-Republicans.

5) Since the TFA voluntary poll is not indicating Democratic preferences or even preferences among an estimated large population of independents, what it it may be detecting is a large split in the population of those who self-identify as Republican or conservative and particularly those who are focused on 2nd Amendment issues.

NOTE: A very few number of individuals have reported difficulty with taking the poll. It has been tested on Chrome, Firefox and Android. The software vendor suggests clearing the cache and reloading the page if you are having a problem.

TFA has issued invitations to candidates for governor to do video interviews on 2nd Amendment issues in TN. The questions will be written and provided in advance. Who will participate? Depends perhaps on who wants to talk to Tennesseans.

Tennessee will be elected various office holders in November. Each voter has the discretion to vote as they determine without the shackles of someone mandating a choice that conflicts with their principles.

Tennessee Fi****ms Association Legislative Action Committee (TFALAC) held its 2026 Annual Event on September 12, 2026. TFALAC extended invitations to four candidates who are on the November ballot for Governor to speak. From the Fifth Circuit Court in North Texas deciding that the interstate sales of fi****ms Ban is unconstitutional:
“…the degree to which a regulation encroaches upon Second Amendment rights is generally immaterial 𝘉𝘳𝘶𝘦𝘯 Step 1. Conduct either implicates the plain text of the Second Amendment—in which case it is entitled to a presumption of constitutional protections—or it does not—in which event the Second Amendment offers no succor…There is no middle ground…This is confirmed 𝘞𝘰𝘭𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘷. 𝘓𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘻 146 S. Ct. 2032 (2026). 𝘞𝘰𝘭𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥 holds that 𝘉𝘳𝘶𝘦𝘯 Step 1, plaintiffs need only demonstrate that the challenged law concerns “the people,” that it relates to “any form of ‘Arms,” and, as relevant here, that it “place[s] any restrictions on either the ‘keeping’ … or the ‘bearing’ of arms.” Id. at 2043 (𝘉𝘳𝘶𝘦𝘯 597 U.S. at 32–33).
