Urban parks like Centennial Park do more than provide beautiful places to gather—they create habitat for pollinators and wildlife, help improve air quality, manage stormwater, reduce urban heat, and connect people with nature right in the heart of the city. These green spaces play an important role in the health of both our environment and our community.

Free Centennial Park Nature Tour - June 23
Want to take a closer look at the nature all around us? Join us for a free guided Nature Walk in Centennial Park on June 23 at 11:30 AM or 12:15 PM. During this 45-minute walk, you'll explore the park's trees, plants, and wildlife while learning more about the ecological benefits of Nashville's urban green spaces.

🌲 Environmental Grantee Spotlight: Nashville Tree Conservation Corps

Funding from our 2025 Nashville Earth Day environmental grants are supporting the removal of hazardous dead trees on Meharry Medical College’s campus and the replanting of at least twice as many healthy trees — including the replacement of a historic dogwood at the entrance of the hospital building–in partnership with Nashville Tree Conservation Corps.

Proceeds from Nashville Earth Day help fund environmental grants supporting projects across our community focused on trees, pollinator habitats, clean water, sustainability, and environmental education. Since 2020, these grants have helped local organizations create meaningful, lasting environmental impact throughout Nashville. 🌱
