Today we celebrate the life and legacy of our founder, Chris Cathers.

Chris believed that no Veteran should ever have to fight their battles alone. That belief became Brothers Keeper Veteran Foundation…a mission dedicated to ensuring our nation's heroes receive the support, resources, and hope they deserve.

While we miss Chris deeply, we see his mission every day in the lives being changed through this organization. Every Veteran served, every family supported, and every life impacted is a reflection of the vision he set into motion.

Today, we invite you to celebrate Chris's birthday with us.

Share a favorite memory, perform an act of kindness, thank a Veteran, or consider supporting the mission he cared so deeply about.

Happy Birthday, Chris.

Your mission lives on in every life we have the privilege to serve.

Brothers Keeper Veteran Foundation Chairman Rob Vaughan was honored to accept an invitation from Christian Brunetti and the team at Midwest Stunts for an intensive two-day training seminar with actors, actresses, and professional stunt performers.

Drawing from decades of real-world operational experience, Rob instructed participants in proper weapon manipulation and safe handling, vehicle contact drills, forceful structure occupations, individual and team movement techniques, and effective shooting platforms in and around cover...including vehicles.

Training like this helps bring authenticity, professionalism, and safety to every production. Thank you to Christian Brunetti and the entire Midwest Stunts crew for the opportunity and outstanding hospitality.

The night before Salute & Shoot always feels different.

No stage, no crowd, just the sponsors and supporters who showed up early because they believe in what the next day is actually about. A few weeks ago, our VIP experience brought together our Presenting, Sharpshooter, Marksman, and Bullseye sponsors for a private clay shoot, good spirits, and even better company.

This is what Connection is Prevention™ looks like off the range too. The relationships built that evening are the same kind that carry a veteran through their hardest day.

To every sponsor who showed up: thank you. You made the fellowship possible before the mission even took the field.

Still soaking in everything Salute & Shoot 2026 made possible. 🎯

Most people hear "veteran nonprofit" and picture a fundraiser. Here's what it actually looks like on the ground.

Emergency lodging when a veteran has nowhere else to turn. Peer support and chaplain care from people who've walked the same road. Residential treatment and sober living for veterans rebuilding from the ground up. Housing support when storms or instability threaten to take away the one safe place they have left.

This isn't theory. In the last year alone, BKVF has helped 15+ veterans access residential treatment, made 27 months of treatment possible, and delivered thousands of hours of peer support, chaplain care, and case management.

None of it happens without people willing to stand behind it.

Swipe through to see the full picture, then go be part of it. Donate, volunteer, or share this post. Every one of those moves a veteran closer to stability.

You don't have to be in crisis to make this call. You just have to need someone to talk to.

Transitioning out of service. Sleepless nights. The weight that doesn't have a name yet. Whatever it is...here's a real person on the other end of this line who understands what you're carrying, because they've carried it too.

No one gets through this alone. Reach out today, or save this for the day you, or someone you love needs it.

Every year, we watch this room fill with the same thing: people who refuse to let a veteran fight alone.

The 2026 Cultivating Courage Gala is coming September 12th, and if you were there last year, you already know why this one always sells out. It's not just a night of dinner and drinks...it's a room full of veterans, families, and supporters who show up because they understand what's at stake. Every ticket, every table, every sponsorship goes directly into mental health treatment, peer support, and recovery programs for veterans who are fighting a war most of us never see.

Watch the video from last year's Gala to see exactly what this night is about... the energy, the emotion, the impact. It's the reason this room fills up fast, year after year.

This isn't an event you want to think about "getting to eventually." Tables and sponsorships go quickly, and once they're gone, they're gone. If you want to be in that room on September 12th, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the people carrying this mission forward, now's the time.

Get your tickets before they're gone → bkvf.org
