Welcome to today’s Braselton Rotary Club!

We got to hear about Gwinnett Special Forces, a post high school Special Olympics opportunity for those in our community!

Elaine Chalmers, Board Chair, and Bricen Potter, Public Relations & Marketing, shared that Gwinnett Special Forces currently offers softball, basketball, bowling, bocce ball, track & field, volleyball and soccer! Sounds like competition is pretty fierce and the players enjoy it!

As a 501C nonprofit organization, they rely solely on volunteers, donations and fundraising.

Welcome to today’s Braselton Rotary Club!

Along with “Happy” moments that were shared, Scott Griggs recognized many members who have contributed their time and talents over the past 12 months…from golf tournaments to foundations, after hour events to speakers, our treasury to Interact Club, and so much more…it takes many hands to do all that our Club accomplishes throughout the year…so thank you!

We also recognized Greg Wilson as the Rotarian of the Year! Congrats and thanks to Greg for all he has done to advance our Club this year!

And then we experienced “THE GREG GAME”! It’s kinda where we get to know each other a little bit better…you’ll just have to come and experience it for yourself some time 🙂

Braselton Rotary cruised on Lake Lanier this evening!

Wonderful time with friends to celebrate a great year in Rotary:)

We had a few words from outgoing President Scott, presenting of the infamous chapstick to incoming President Sue, and amazing food & drink.

Thank you Butch for your houseboat hospitality, and Jennifer & Patti for working your magic again in organizing a fantastic event!!

Starting our summer off strong with our new friend, Matthew Efird.

Matthew shared about deep loss that we all experience in life, and how to support others, especially in the workplace. Through the “24 Hour Rule” we can reach out to others through being:

✅ Scholarship Applications update and new scholarship ideas!
✅ Raffle winner!
✅ “Happy/Sad” celebrating anniversaries, travel, new home beginnings, grandkids, and family & friend prayer requests!
✅ Recognition of our Star Sponsor, Jennifer Sims!
✅ Presentation of Foundation investments to three amazing community organizations:
1. American Cancer Society
2. Piedmont CASA Program
3. Peace Place

✅ And to top it off, we heard from fellow Rotarians, Keith & Ginger Conner, giving us a little glimpse into their life adventures… “half-full vs. half-empty,” persistent kind of people! Thanks for sharing your story!

What a busy and impactful day at Braselton Rotary today! 🔄💙

We were honored to present three foundation checks to three incredible organizations making a difference in our community:
🎓 Brenau University’s Psychology Department
🏋️ Georgia Mountains YMCA
💜 Gateway Domestic Violence Center

We also proudly inducted THREE new Rotary members! 👏🎉 Welcome to the Rotary family - Patti Curtis, Kathy Fauscett, and Angela Gary.

And we had the privilege of hearing from the amazing team at I.N.K. Interactive Neighborhood for Kids 🧒🎨🦖
Board Chair Alan Wayne and Executive Director Lisa Garey shared all about their incredible hands-on interactive museum in Oakwood and the impact they’re making for children and families throughout our community.
