Preserve Nashville

Preserve Nashville Our Mission: To shape Nashville’s future by protecting and championing our historic places.
(1)

Our Vision: A Nashville for all, where historic preservation and thoughtful growth strengthen our culture, commerce, and community. Over the years, HNI has successfully advocated for the preservation of many downtown landmarks, including the Ryman Auditorium, Union Station, Hermitage Hotel, Shelby Street Bridge, and the Second Avenue, Printers Alley, Lower Broadway, and East Nashville historic dis

tricts. In 1982, HNI established the state's first Preservation Easement program and currently owns easements on 16 historic landmarks with a market value of over $30 million. HNI hosts an annual membership meeting, publishes a newsletter, maintains a website, gives special behind-the-scenes tours of local historic landmarks, and recently launched the annual "Nashville Nine" endangered properties list.

The Preservation Society of Nashville and Historic Nashville, Inc. have formed a strategic alliance to create a new parent organization, Preserve Nashville, focused on strengthening preservation across our city.

What this means:
• Same mission, stronger together
• All programs and events continue
• Memberships remain active
• Historic Nashville continues its easement work
• One unified voice for preservation in a growing Nashville

This is about impact, not change for the sake of change.
