Approx­i­mate­ly 20% of former foster youth become home­less dur­ing the tran­si­tion to adult­hood, accord­ing to a 2024 study. This is high­er than the esti­mat­ed 4% life­time preva­lence of home­less­ness in the gen­er­al population.
Thriving After Care, lovingly referred to as TAC, is for young adults (ages 18-23) who are transitioning out of the foster care system to provide them with the life skills necessary to succeed. Classes include cooking; financial literacy; resume building and applying for a job; finding housing; advanced schooling, etc.

Congratulations to our incredible high school and college graduates!
Fostering Success has a 100% high school graduation rate among the youth who participate in the Academic Mentoring program. Of those graduates, 80% further their education through technical schools, certificate programs and 2- or 4-year degrees.
Those students are attending Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), Florida Southern College, Florida Southwestern State College (FSW), Jacksonville State College, Lorenzo Walker Technical College, Santa Fe College, University of North Florida (UNF), University of South Florida, University of Virginia and Wyoming Catholic College.
