Auditions for A Christmas Carol are coming up!

Gulfshore Playhouse is seeking young performers ages 7-14 to join the youth ensemble of our professional Mainstage production of A Christmas Carol this holiday season.

This isn't a traditional youth theatre production. Students selected for the ensemble will rehearse and perform alongside professional actors on the Moran Mainstage, gaining firsthand experience in a professional rehearsal room and becoming part of the original cast of this world-premiere adaptation.

Along the way, students will:
✨ Work alongside professional actors, stage managers and creative teams
✨ Receive mentorship from Gulfshore Playhouse's artistic and education teams
✨ Build their acting, singing and movement skills through additional workshops and instruction
✨ Learn professional rehearsal room etiquette and practices
✨ Perform throughout the holiday season on the Moran Mainstage

Auditions are Saturday, August 29!

Students should prepare a Christmas carol, perform provided select scenes from the script and participate in a movement call.

In this hands-on, twice-a-week, four-week experience, students in grades 6-12 will go behind the scenes at Gulfshore Playhouse and learn directly from the professional artisans who build our productions. Each week, you'll dive into a different area of technical theatre, gaining real-world experience through hands-on projects, demonstrations, and workshops. Investing in the next generation of theatre professionals.

This summer, we were proud to welcome the inaugural class of the Judy Cheteyan Fellowship - Bria Weisz, Parker Mitchell, and Elizabeth Montgomery - for an immersive experience at Gulfshore Playhouse.

Over the past two months, these talented emerging arts leaders worked alongside our staff, contributing to meaningful projects, learning from industry professionals, and gaining firsthand experience inside a professional LORT regional theatre. Their curiosity, creativity, and dedication made a lasting impact on our organization.

We are deeply grateful to Judy and Michael Cheteyan for making this transformative opportunity possible. Their generosity is helping shape the future of the American theatre, one emerging professional at a time.
