A little of Lakeland before we head to Fort Lauderdale.

Last month, we shared what this music and these people have meant to us. This weekend, we’re coming back to the music with a few words worth carrying into the time between concerts:

“Do justice, love kindness.”

We sing those words in Kyle Pederson’s Micah Blues, and they’re a good reminder to take with us when we close our folders. Tomorrow’s program gives us plenty to think about, from how we care for one another to the possibility of reconciliation. And, thankfully, plenty of reasons to sing for joy.

Therefore, Give Us Love continues our season “Toward Joy and Light.” We’re looking forward to being together again and sharing this music with you.

Fort Lauderdale, we’d love to see you there.

Saturday, October 10 • 7 p.m. • Free Admission
First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale

“Love is kind and suffers long, love is meek and thinks no wrong, love than death itself more strong; therefore give us love.”

Come join us for our second concert of the season October 10th in Fort Lauderdale. We look forward to sharing our music with you!

“I will make a way in the wilderness.”

We’ll sing those words tonight in Tom Trenney’s Love’s Lantern.

For many of us, having this group and the opportunity to make music at this level has been a light through our own wilderness. It’s a place to keep growing as musicians, reconnect with friends, and remember how much we love to sing.

When we asked our singers what Festival Singers means to them, they told us about finding their way back to music and having people they could count on through some of the hardest times of their lives. One called it “family through singing.”

That’s a lot to be grateful for as we get ready to stand together tonight. These people and this music have reminded us that there will be better days. We’d love to share an evening of that music with you.

It's concert week!

This Saturday, we come together in Lakeland, FL, to open our 2026-2027 season with Love's Lantern.

One of the things we love about this group is that we spend most of the year scattered across Florida, then concert weekend comes around, and we get to become one choir again. There is nothing quite like standing together, taking that first breath, and hearing the music come to life.

Love’s Lantern feels like exactly the right place to start. This music makes room for grief, uncertainty, and questions without easy answers, while still seeking the love, courage, joy, and light that carry us forward.

We would love to share it with you. Come spend Saturday evening with us.

Saturday, September 19
7:00 p.m.
First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland
175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive

Admission is free. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
