This World Mental Health Day, we're thankful for the seniors, families, and adults who put their trust in us every day. From life skills training at the center and no-cost care coordination for families to outreach to senior women at risk of homelessness, NAMI Collier makes an impact on thousands of lives each year.

NAMI Collier's Adult Program proudly celebrated World Mental Health Day with a day full of connection, laughter, and friendship! 💚

Our participants planned the entire event from start to finish, truly embodying the spirit of resilience, empowerment, and community. Staff and participants enjoyed a fun-filled day together while also celebrating Nicholas's birthday. 🎉

For Nicholas, it was especially meaningful to celebrate with his new program and the friends he has made along the way. Moments like these remind us that recovery, support, and belonging make all the difference. 💚

What is maternal mental health? 👩‍👦‍👦 Today, moms at Grace Place Naples joined Amy, our Licensed Clinical Social Worker, to learn about mental and physical warning signs, as well as strategies to take care of themselves and their communities.

Did you know...
💙 11.9% of mothers in the US, or over 430,000 mothers per year report symptoms of postpartum depression
💛 But only 1 in 4 mothers with these symptoms receive a diagnosis
💙 Postpartum depression is NOT the same as the "baby blues" and there are simple screenings that doctors can do to help new mothers tell the difference
💛 Postpartum depression is treatable, and with the appropriate support, most mothers feel better and their wellness improves

It's so important for new mothers and the village around them to know and recognize the symptoms of postpartum depression so more women can get the support they need. We're so thankful to Grace Place for inviting us to share this information with some of the most amazing moms in our community. 💚

Working with The Immokalee Foundation to host a summer intern this year was a wonderful experience. We had the pleasure to work with one of their participants for a full month and couldn't have been happier with how professional and eager to learn she was.

We can't wait to see all the good that the summer interns do in the future!
