The Friends of St.

Irene Orthodox Mission & Orphanage program was established by the Annunciation Greek Orthodox to create awareness for the needs of the Orphanage and the 180+ children.

Heavenly Father, source of all life, mercy, and healing, I place my beloved son, Nectarios Waititu Muthiru, into Your loving hands. Look upon him with compassion and grant him a swift and complete recovery. Restore his strength, renew his health, ease every pain, and fill his heart with peace and courage.
Lord Jesus Christ, the Great Physician of our souls and bodies, stretch forth Your healing hand and bless Nectarios with Your divine grace. May every weakness be transformed into strength, every illness into wellness, and every fear into trust in Your loving care.
Through the prayers of the Most Holy Theotokos and all the saints, protect him, comfort him, and grant him good health and many blessed years.

Today, we celebrated a joyful milestone at St. Irene Orthodox Mission Centre as our kindergarten children graduated and prepared to begin the next stage of their educational journey. This achievement is a testimony to God's grace and to the steadfast generosity of our donors and supporters.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for investing in the lives of these children. Your support provides not only education, but also hope, stability, and the opportunity for each child to grow in knowledge, confidence, and faith. Thank you for helping make moments like this possible and for partnering with us in shaping a brighter future for the children entrusted to our care. 🎓🙏🏾❤️

Today, with love in Christ and faith in the healing mercy of God, we gathered in the home of our beloved elder priest, Fr. Phillip, and his faithful Papadhia to celebrate the Holy Mystery of Anointing.
As the holy oil was blessed and applied, we prayed that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Great Physician of our souls and bodies, would grant them strength, comfort, and restoration. We asked that every weakness be met with His power, every burden with His peace, and every affliction with His healing grace.
We give thanks for the many years of faithful service, sacrifice, and prayer that Fr. Phillip and his Papadhia have offered to God's people. May the Lord, who sees their labour of love, visit them with His abundant mercy and renew them in body, mind, and spirit.
"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up." (James 5:14-15)
May the All-Holy Trinity bless them with health, courage, and many peaceful years, and may the intercessions of the Most Holy Theotokos and all the saints surround their home with divine protection and joy.
May God's healing hand rest upon Fr. Phillip and his Papadhia, granting them wholeness of body and salvation of soul. Amen.

Today my heart was filled with joy and gratitude as I visited our beloved elder priest, Fr Philip, at his home and shared with him the Most Holy Communion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It was a precious blessing to pray together and witness once again the faith and devotion that have guided his life and ministry. May the Lord strengthen him, comfort him, and surround him with His peace and love. Kindly remember Fr Philip in your prayers

Dear Friends and Supporters,
In Luke 10:16-21, our Lord Jesus Christ sends His disciples into the world as ambassadors of His love, peace, and mercy. He then tells them something remarkable: "He who hears you hears Me." Through these words, Christ identifies Himself with those who are sent to serve and with those who receive that service.
At St. Irene Orthodox Mission Centre, we witness this Gospel truth every day.
Hundreds of children depend on us not only for education and spiritual care, but also for the nourishment they need to grow, learn, and thrive. For many of these children, the meal they receive through our feeding programme is the most reliable source of nutrition they will have that day.
When you provide food for a hungry child, you are doing more than meeting a physical need. You are becoming part of Christ's mission. Your generosity becomes an expression of God's love, telling every child: "You are seen. You are valued. You are not forgotten."
In today's world, there are many voices competing for our attention. Yet Christ continues to reveal Himself through the faces of the little ones. As He rejoiced that the Father's love is made known to the humble and the vulnerable, we too rejoice whenever a child at St. Irene receives a nourishing meal, gains strength for learning, and experiences the dignity that every child deserves.
The disciples returned to Jesus with joy because they witnessed God's work among His people. We invite you to share in that same joy. Every contribution, whether large or small, places food on a child's plate and hope in a child's heart.
Today, we humbly ask you to partner with us in sustaining the St. Irene Feeding Programme. Together, we can ensure that no child is forced to learn on an empty stomach and that every child entrusted to our care experiences the love of Christ through a nourishing meal.
May God bless your generosity and reward your compassion abundantly.

Today, the altar boys of St. Irene Orthodox Mission received a special blessing from an elderly priest after we visited him and shared Holy Communion. It was a touching moment as he prayed for the children, encouraging them to remain faithful, humble, and dedicated in their service to God. May his prayers and blessings strengthen them in their spiritual journey.
