The money raised here stays connected to West Michigan.

It helps fund breast cancer screenings through Hackley Community Care for women in Muskegon who couldn’t otherwise afford them. It supports women who are facing a diagnosis. It helps support research at Van Andel Institute that can shape care for years to come.

Since 2012, StandUp For The Cure has raised more than $1.5 million.

But the real story is simpler than that.

Women in this community got access to something they needed because people showed up.

That’s why we paddle.

See you July 25. 💗

West Michigan didn’t stop showing up.

Since 2012, this community has kept StandUp For The Cure going. Families come back. Survivors lead. Friends register together. People wear pink, fill Mona Lake, and remind each other that no one has to walk through breast cancer alone.

That’s why this event is still here.

Your registration helps keep it going and helps fund care, support, and research that matter right here in our community.

Breast cancer research can sound far away.

A lab. A microscope. Progress that feels hard to see.

But some of that work is happening right here in Grand Rapids at Van Andel Institute. Funds raised through StandUp For The Cure help support researchers working to better understand breast cancer and how it can be treated in the years ahead.

That means your morning on Mona Lake is connected to something much bigger than one day on the water.

West Michigan shows up. Research moves forward. Women and families feel the impact.

Join us July 25 at Ross Park.

Just over seven weeks away and Mona Lake turns pink.

Hundreds of paddlers will move together across the water for the Sea of Pink. It’s one of those moments that’s hard to explain until you’re in it.

So be in it.

Grab your spot, bring a friend, and help us fill Mona Lake for a cause that reaches women and families right here in West Michigan.

She almost didn’t register.

She didn’t know anyone. She didn’t plan to get on a board. She was just going to stand at Ross Park, keep her feet dry, and watch the Sea of Pink move across Mona Lake.

Then someone handed her a pink lei. Someone else asked who she came for. By noon, she was trading numbers with people who had been strangers that morning.

That’s what this day does.

Whether you paddle, cheer from shore, volunteer, or come because someone you love needs you there, this day belongs to you too.

Memorial Day has passed, graduation open houses are winding down, and summer is picking up at full speed!

July 25 at Ross Park is closer than it feels, and if Standup for the Cure has been on your radar this year, this is the right moment to make it official.

A few minutes now puts you on Mona Lake on a Saturday morning that this West Michigan community has been building toward for over a decade!

Some people come for the paddleboarding. But not everyone knows what else is available when they arrive.

Starting at 9am on July 25, there will be free breast exams on site at Ross Park, made possible by Hackley Community Care and Trinity Health Breast Center. No appointment needed, and no cost.

For some women, this part of the morning is the most important reason they come. Access to this kind of care is exactly what the event was built around, and it is available to everyone who shows up, whether they ever get on a board or not.

That is the kind of day July 25 is. We would love to see you there.

Register and come early at the link in the comments!

Somehow it's already May, which means summer is closer than it feels and July 25th is closer than it sounds. Summer has a way of filling up fast, so if you've been meaning to register for StandUp For The Cure, now is a great time to lock it in before the calendar does it for you.

A morning on Mona Lake, a Sea of Pink, and a community that shows up for something that matters. No paddleboarding experience required, many of us begin the day a little wobbly.

The Sea of Pink doesn't happen without people who believe in it. Neither do the breast cancer screenings, the research at Van Andel Institute, or the care programs at Hackley Community Care that reach women across Michigan who need them.

Behind it all are the partners who show up for this community long before we gather on the water.

To our sponsors: thank you. None of this is possible without you. 🩷
