Read Muskegon

Read Muskegon One in six adults in the United States is functionally illiterate, reading at or below the 4th grade level.

In Muskegon County, that translates to more than 21,000 adults. The adverse effects of illiteracy are felt in our economic, education, criminal justice, and healthcare systems. Read Muskegon is breaking the generational cycle of illiteracy by providing customized programs that meet the unique needs of our learners and building community partnerships to maximize our impact.

Today is bittersweet because it's Lanesha’s last day at Read Muskegon!

Lanesha first joined us as an AmeriCorps member and thankfully decided to stay on with Read Muskegon. She has brought so much fun, creativity, new ideas, and joy to our staff.

While working with us, she’s also been working toward her bachelor’s degree in Sociology. After finishing her final semester this fall, she’ll officially be a college graduate! 🎓 We’re so proud of all she’s accomplished while balancing family life, work, and school.

Help us wish Lanesha the best of luck this fall! While this is an official goodbye to having her on staff, we know we’ll still see plenty of her around Read Muskegon. 📚💙
