July is Disability Pride Month, a time to celebrate the strength, talents, and contributions of people with disabilities while recognizing the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all.
At Mission for Area People, we believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. We are honored to serve our community by helping individuals and families connect with the resources they need to thrive.
We're also grateful for the incredible work of our friends at Disability Network West Michigan, who advocate for and empower individuals with disabilities every day.
If you're already connected with Disability Network, or even if you're not, but could use additional support navigating community resources, benefits, housing, food assistance, healthcare, or other services, our Community Health Worker, Tamea Williams, is here to help. Tamea can work alongside you to connect you with the programs and supports you may qualify for and help make the process a little easier.
This Disability Pride Month, let's continue building a community where everyone belongs, barriers are reduced, and every person has the opportunity to live with independence, dignity, and support.
๐ Happy Disability Pride Month!
