๐Ÿ‘Ÿ๐Ÿ’™ THANK YOU FOR MAKING HAPPY FEET POSSIBLE! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the amazing supporters who came together to make Mission for Area Peopleโ€™s annual Happy Feet Back-to-School Event such a tremendous success!

Together, you donated an incredible $18,255! ๐ŸŽ‰ Because of your generosity, 300 local children received brand-new shoes from Shoe Carnival this year, an essential back-to-school item that helps kids start the school year feeling confident, comfortable, and ready to learn. ๐ŸŽ’โœจ

A very special THANK YOU to Shoe Carnival for hosting this wonderful event and helping bring so many smiles to the faces of local children! ๐Ÿ‘Ÿโค๏ธ

To every individual, business, organization, and community member who donated: THANK YOU! Your generosity truly made a difference. You didnโ€™t just give shoes, you gave children the opportunity to step into the new school year with confidence and joy.

We are so grateful for a community that continues to show up for our kids. Happy Feet, happy hearts, and a community full of generous souls! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

A Gift That Means So Much ๐Ÿ’™

We had the pleasure of meeting an incredibly friendly gentleman, Ian of XT3 LLC, who stopped by Mission for Area People with a very large supply of personal care items to donate. We are incredibly grateful for his generosity and thoughtfulness!

At Mission for Area People, we provide personal care products to guests who receive their week of groceries through our Healthy Choice Food Pantry. Because we know that when times are tough and there isnโ€™t enough money for food, there also isnโ€™t enough money left for necessities like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, and other personal care items.

Thatโ€™s why this donation means so much. ๐Ÿ’™ Personal care items are always needed, but large donations like this donโ€™t come in often. This incredible gift will allow us to help many of our guests with everyday essentials that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

To the kind gentleman who walked through our doors and gave so generously: THANK YOU! Your generosity will reach far beyond the donation itself and directly support Muskegon County neighbors who are facing difficult times.

We are so grateful for people like you who remind us just how powerful kindness and generosity can be. Thank you for making a difference! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿšจ Happy Feet Registration is Now Closed! ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ๐Ÿ’™

As of last Wednesday, registration for Mission for Area People's Happy Feet program has officially closed. Thanks to our amazing community, we have 217 children signed up to receive brand-new shoes for the upcoming school year.

For many of our underserved families, purchasing new school shoes is one of the biggest back-to-school expenses. While clothing can often be found secondhand, finding shoes in the correct size at a thrift store is much more difficult. Properly fitted shoes are essential for growing feet; they help support healthy development, reduce pain and discomfort, prevent injuries, and allow children to walk, run, learn, and play with confidence throughout the school day.

Right now, 95 children are on our waiting list as we hope for additional generous donations to help every registered child receive a new pair of shoes before school begins.

July is Disability Pride Month, a time to celebrate the strength, talents, and contributions of people with disabilities while recognizing the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all.

At Mission for Area People, we believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. We are honored to serve our community by helping individuals and families connect with the resources they need to thrive.

We're also grateful for the incredible work of our friends at Disability Network West Michigan, who advocate for and empower individuals with disabilities every day.

If you're already connected with Disability Network, or even if you're not, but could use additional support navigating community resources, benefits, housing, food assistance, healthcare, or other services, our Community Health Worker, Tamea Williams, is here to help. Tamea can work alongside you to connect you with the programs and supports you may qualify for and help make the process a little easier.

This Disability Pride Month, let's continue building a community where everyone belongs, barriers are reduced, and every person has the opportunity to live with independence, dignity, and support.

๐Ÿ’™ Happy Disability Pride Month!
