It was an insightful and impactful event where we had the opportunity to hear directly from experienced professionals and alumni about how to successfully navigate the OPT (Optional Practical Training) and CPT (Curricular Practical Training) process. The panelists shared practical strategies, real-life experiences, and honest advice that helped break down what can often feel like a complex and overwhelming journey for international students.

Beyond the valuable information shared, the event also created a meaningful space for connection. It was not only about learning the steps and requirements of OPT/CPT, but also about building relationships with alumni who have gone through the process, with experts who understand the system, and with fellow students who are on the same path. These conversations made the experience more personal and relatable, allowing us to learn from each other’s questions, concerns, and aspirations.

Overall, the Ghana Student Association’s OPT/CPT program served as both an educational and networking platform, equipping students with clarity, confidence, and connections needed to take the next steps in their professional journey.

This is another insightful and educational program designed to equip international students with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully navigate the OPT (Optional Practical Training) and CPT (Curricular Practical Training) process. The program is open to all international students at Ball State University, not limited to Ghanaian students. Make it a must to join us. Thank you! See you there.

Culture is the heartbeat of every community, no matter where we find ourselves in the world.

As the Ghana Students’ Association at Ball State University celebrates Ghana’s 69th Independence Day, we are reminded of how powerful culture is in bringing people together. Even miles away from home, moments like these keep our heritage alive and thriving.

We are especially grateful to the Rinker Center for Global Affairs for creating spaces that encourage cultural exchange and global connection on campus.

One of our favorite moments from last semester was the Jollof Rice Competition, and yes, Ghana Jollof proudly held its crown as the best Jollof in Africa! 🍚🔥 But beyond the friendly rivalry, the event was a celebration of food, identity, and community.

Another highlight has been our Ghana Cultural Exchange, where we share the richness of Ghanaian traditions, music, stories, and values with both the Ball State community and friends from around the world. These experiences allow us to learn from one another while proudly showcasing where we come from.

Today, we celebrate 69 years of Ghana’s independence, resilience, and cultural pride.

Happy Independence Day, Ghana! 🇬🇭
Our culture travels with us wherever we go.

Love, leadership, and legacy ❤️✨

The Ghana Students’ Association had an incredible Val’s Day Hangout, and it was more than just a celebration, it was a moment of transition and growth.

We officially handed over to our new executives, marking the beginning of a new chapter for our association. Huge appreciation to our outgoing team for their dedication and service, and congratulations to our incoming leaders as they step into this new responsibility.

We also had an insightful session on finding the right balance between love and work . We shared honest experiences, practical tips, and reflections on personal development. The conversations were meaningful and inspiring.

It was even more special to have our alumni present, reminding us that GSA is a lifelong community. From bonding and laughter to sharing memories and growth tips, the night truly brought us closer together.

Here’s to stronger connections, purposeful leadership, and continued excellence 🇬🇭
