🚂 The Economic Development Alliance of Muncie-Delaware County is proud to have led the local effort to achieve Gold REDI (Ready for Economic Development Investment) Certification for a Norfolk Southern-served industrial site in South Muncie. This nationally recognized designation signals the site is prepared for large-scale industrial development and investment. The certification highlights the site's strong infrastructure, transportation access, workforce availability, and development readiness.

“In today’s competitive industrial market, speed and certainty drive location decisions,” said Traci Lutton, Vice President of Economic Development. “Achieving Gold certification mitigates risk, accelerates timelines, and positions Delaware County as a rail-served community ready for industrial investment.”

This achievement strengthens Muncie's position as a competitive destination for advanced manufacturing, logistics, food processing, and other industrial opportunities. With direct rail service, access to major transportation corridors, and a regional workforce of more than 1.4 million people within a 60-minute drive, the site is well-positioned to attract future jobs and investment.

Congratulations to the partners who helped make this designation possible and continue to advance economic growth in our community.

We were proud to attend the nation’s premier event focused on attracting foreign direct investment and fostering economic growth across the United States. Hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce and SelectUSA, the summit brought together thousands of business leaders, investors, and economic development organizations from around the world to explore opportunities for collaboration and investment.

Throughout the summit, we had the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, participate in discussions on innovation and economic development, and showcase the strengths and opportunities our community has to offer. Events like this are invaluable for building relationships, gaining insight into global investment trends, and positioning our region for future growth.

We’re excited to bring back valuable insights and connections that will help support continued growth and investment in our community!
