As February comes to a close, BWV is shining a light on 28 Black women who made history. ✊🏿✨

While we honor Black History Month, we recognize that our history, impact, and excellence are not defined by 28 days. It’s about how we show up every single day to protect, uplift, and share our culture.

These Black women broke barriers. They challenged systems. They led movements. They created space where there was none and because of them, we continue to rise.

Their legacy is our responsibility. Their courage is our blueprint. Their excellence is our standard. Our History is HER-STORY 🩷🖤

BWV intentions have always been to give black women a platform for their voices to be heard. Our voice has meaning and our story holds value. We want every black woman in Indiana a platform to be heard and soon, the whole world.

Linda Calvin was born in Chicago, Illinois, but relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 4. She graduated cm laude receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Butler University. She also received her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University. Linda served as the IT Sector Vice President at Ivy Tech for three years. Linda is the co-founder of Indiana Women in Tech Week. She  currently serves as the Chief Impact Officer for Reboot Representation.

“ I Graduated from ball state in 2021 with my undergrad in communication sciences, completed my masters in 2022 in information and communication sciences at ball state.
I just switched roles from project management to a data analyst role at UKG where I’ve been working at since graduation. In June of 2024 I co-founded the Indianapolis chapter of our Black employee resource group in the office. And I am a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. “
